It's a polar bear I met in Svalbard. It reminds me of the place where I was happy. And a place where I had to take a loaded gun with me when going out for a pee.

As my screen name suggest I like cats! Ever since I was little I've always loved cats they're furry, they purr and meow when you pet them. Plus cats can climb stuff, and are generally awesome. Most little kids have a stuffed teddy bear, growing up; well my parents got me a stuffed cat - although after nearly 25 years he now looks like a teddy bear LOL

As for the photo. Originally I think I had some cat artwork but then found this awesome image of a kitten.

My avatar photo is simply that of my 88 corvette. The original photo I had in mind was of my wife and I driving our rv but in the end she agreed that it was for the best that the file was too large for upload.

Mine is of me ascending up a 60ft vertical pit. It was taken a few weekends ago during a caving trip I went on. It was my first legit vertical adventure!

I think I've seen that photo before. It is of the Empire State Building, yes?

It was shot by Charles C. Ebbets on Sept. 20th 1932. the men are sitting on a beam for the 69th floor of the RCA Building at Rockefeller Center. Corbis currently owns the image and officially credits the photographer as "unknown" although most agree it was Ebbets who shot it.

it's also very likely that the beam these men are sitting on was made at Bethlehem steel in Bethlehem PA but I don't know that to be fact.

Great story. Now I'm confused about which photo I saw. Thanks
Either way, it's a touching photo.

This lighthouse (supposedly haunted) sits on a ledge in the middle of a wide river. The constant flow of river traffic, including high-speed passenger Hydrofoils makes any approach problematic. It is on my "End of Days" bucket list, along with the Brooklyn Bridge and some other spots I'll explore when I'm so old I don't give a damn if I'm caught or not, which isn't too far away.

Thanks Abby! Therrin and I got invited to a trip where they're doing somewhere around 300ft total on multiple drops so my next goal is to run some rope and see how far I can get.

This lighthouse

First off it looks beautiful! second my idea would to be to get a friend or two and boat around it casually for a while, maybe fish. then as soon as you see an opening, or can get around a side of the building with access and just slightly out of view maybe, pull up to it, jump off and have the driver leave, radio or call them back when ready. I've been seen going into a number of locations though so my methods arent full proof

Apparently that DID just happen. And I AM proud of it
