I grew up about 10 minutes from here and have never been. I didn't think there was that much to see. I may give it a go soon now!

I'm not sure there is any reason for me to post my shots LMAO, great shots all around... Especially like the shot of the old wooden door in #3! What lens are you shooting wide with Dgrau?

Dem tones. I love Portra 160. I usually get better results with it than 400.

Also LOVE Velvia, but the last shop in birmingham that did E6 processing just closed, so I'll have to settle for Ektar.

You can still send away for processing. It's worth it for velvia. Ektar is nice stuff but you can't beat the colors of velvia.

Thanks for the compliments! I was shooting mostly with my 24mm. I found that whenever I was bringing my primary zoom lens, I was staying mostly at the wide end (28mm) whenever I went exploring. It made more sense to pack light and just go with a prime.

Damn! I love that shot of the safe door. Looks like they cut it in half?

And the hand-painting on that column was awesome. You can still see the pencil marks they never erased.

Great stuff, Maglyte. All film here as well?

Damn. To see all the archival photos of this place in its prime...it's a fucking shame. I so wish I knew what that powerhouse floor once looked like. But yeah...this place...the expansiveness of it. It's the largest location I've ever seen, and there's just so little of it left. 'scuse me...I've got something in my eye...

No - I found those posted on a Steel Industry Yahoo group years ago. Pretty sure that group is now deceased.
