I happened to pass by this abandoned school when the roads were really bad and one of the main highways was closed and I had to take a different route. Today I checked this place out. I have never seen so many appliances in a school. There were so many washers and dryers, ovens and a lot of sofas and chairs. I am wondering what use this building had after the school closed. 1.

SAD FANS!! <3

...and that one pic of the washers almost looks like some kind of laundromat setup? Only... I assume you'd have to put in a lot of plumbing and ductwork to actually put a laundromat someplace so I can't imagine someone... bought a school intending to... have... a laundromat. That really doesn't make sense. So I got nothing.

Nice explore though!

nice find!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Home Ec classroom? Or do they still teach that anymore?

When I was in Jr. High they had all the boys take wood shop and metal shop, and the girls took Home Ec. I don't think anyone was allowed to cross the Gender Divide.

But, yeah, to be functional they'd need water and sinks, and a gas line and exhaust for the dryer. Maybe they learned to do laundry by pretending.

Aren't "subpar" and "better than most" contradictions of each other? If the photography is "sub-par" wouldn't it be worse than most?

Yeah, these pics came out blurry. I was a bit disappointed. I was a little nervous about getting caught inside, so I made it in and out quickly. Plus, I'm not one of those explorers who takes an expensive camera into abandoned buildings.

Heh. :>

I have totally done this -.- Gotten home and yanked the pictures off the camera only to find out that a small fraction only were in focus. The old point-and-shoot has been on the fritz it seems so I haven't been carrying it (thing's been through the wars). And while the camera in my phone is... honestly a lot better than the old camera, it's also a touch-screen which makes for much more fussiness and the... 'my hands have now gotten too cold to be recognized as a human digit'.

Anyway, if you find out any more about what this place was, I'd hella love to know. (That's right. Hella.)

I mean like other than the school part, if there was other history.
