Here are some photos from an abandoned wood processing plant along the Fraser river. I have absolutely zero information about it, so if anybody knows anything, feel free to add it.

I believe that is actually a fiberglass mold to make boat hull with....and a big one.

For all you boat lovers, you can actually get inside of the hull very easily... just gotta crawl under it, and there are 2 wholes in the middle on the very bottom...its pretty cool

I was looking for a way into the hull, but climbing up didn't seem very safe. I'll definitely look underneath next time!

It seems most likely that it was part of the saw mill next door. They might have shut that plant down to save money, or the mill changed owners. Like I said, I have no information about the place. There is almost nothing online.

I just did a slight bit of investigation and circa 1996 the site was active, and it looks distinctly separate from the other mill, divided by a couple property lines and a line of trees. In the attached photo, circa 1996, the abandoned mill in question is on the lower right, and the currently active mill is a few lots of the left of it.

EDIT: I just scrolled through a 150 page report on vacant industrial lands in Metro Vancouver and it was stated there that the lot has remained vacant for such an extended period of time due to the "vulnerable ecological state" of the land there. Sounds like bullshit rhetoric to me, The land next to it is a sawmill, and near-identical lands right down the river are all shored up with docks and manmade structures. Whatever, looks like it'll be there for us to explore for a few years yet.

Okay, I just did some hard core research and found a bit of stuff.

As of the 1968 Fraser River Flood Control Agreement, there was nothing on the land, and it was known as Baines Trucking. (http://www.env.gov...20entire%20doc.pdf go to page 21)

Baines Trucking returned zero results in Google, but a search of the neighbouring mill, Clayton Cedar Products, brings up this website http://anbrook.com.../about-us/history/. It is the website for Anbrook Industries, and the history page says "Clayton, initially built and ran Clayton Cedar Products, a large shake mill in Pitt Meadows, and in the late 70’s built a smaller one-machine mill next door, called Anbrook Industries, named after his two young children. Over the years, he grew tired of the larger operation and eventually sold it, focusing on the smaller “boutique” Anbrook and what it could become..."

I am assuming that Clayton Cedar Products is now Halo Sawmill, but the Anbrook Industries could be either this plant, or the former Rolyn Mill. On current Google Maps, they have the tag Anbrook Industries in the location of the Rolyn Mill.

So basically I still don't know anything, but I might be headed in the right direction?

Looks like I might have to camp out in that hull mould for a night at some point this summer...

That's a log infeed from the water for sure. The hoist mechanism would be for clearing jams. All the machinery is missing but from the multiple waste conveyors in the floor there was more than one machine in there for breakdown. If it ran cedar it may have debarked and slashed them into bolts to sale to other mills or trucked to the other mill.

Dropped by the mill today with vpogue, got inside that hull mold, and saw some beavers...
