Hill Ward has been demolished for about five years. There had been incidents of supposed followers of the band Insane Clown Posse attacking people from the ruins. City of Lakewood feared a lawsuit if someone got hurt for trespassing ... etc.

The ruins came about due to a military training exercise blowing up half the building in the late 1980s. Whether they used explosives or flew over it and unloaded a bomb is a bit of a mystery. It is reported that first responders later used the ruins to train people for work in collapsed building rescues.

Nonetheless it is gone now except for a part of the foundation that is next to a historical information display.
