FYI. The inside is disappointing. All the pictures you see from the inside are from one small little section. The rest is pretty empty.

Also definitely no tunnels.

It was fun but not worth the risk.

Sweet! yeah those look nice. Im sure he just got a small area of it due to time. This place would take days to explore without a map, or if you have no idea where you're going

Just need to take a decent lookin hooker to give the guard his first piece. After that I'm sure he'll be so happy that he finally got laid that he'll give you a key and tell police that you have full access to the place. Oh, and a donation to the PD to cover the revenue lost for your not getting fined would help, or at least a box of donuts sent to the cop shop. The nosey neighbors would be too busy gossiping over the guard's mysterious lover to worry about one person walking in.

I would be seriously suspect that that light is a motion sensitive light. First off, it's mounted WAY too far away to be activated by anything like passive infrared or acoustic. It's also the kind of light that's built to be on constantly, not triggered on and off when something walks in front of it. The bulb would need to heat up in order to light off, and that can take a few seconds when hot. A stone cold bulb could take several seconds to warm up, in which time you would just walk away.

Seeing as it's mounted so high, and it's a huge flood light, and it's above what looks like a courtyard/driveway drop off area, I would wager it's just a flood light.

Jesus H. Christ...

This is INSANE. So beautiful. I wish the caretaker wasn't such a prick about it though... I'd totally pay to do a tour of this place or something similar. I'd even walk the grounds with a tour guide or something...

Beautiful though, I will admire it from afar.

Just from reading about it a little bit ago, the current plan for the location is a partial restoration of the historic section of the property and new condos etc. It makes a lot of sense that they have someone watching the place to keep it from getting trashed.

I saw a lot of water damage, which is much worse than anything a bunch of asshole kids would do short of burn the place down... shame

That place looks like it was the bees knees back in the day. I wonder how much of the old equipment they tore out. Seems like it was a pretty high tech place for its day.

It looks fairly heavily wooded around it. Finding someplace to park seems like the biggest problem. Or you could socially engineer the neighbors.

“We are not going to have the kind of cooperation we need if everyone insists on their own narrow version of reality. … the great divide in the world today … is between people who have the courage to listen and those who are convinced that they already know it all.”
