Hiding those... questionable items.

As mentioned in some other forums, you may not want to have your SD card with all the pictures you took while trespassing inside your camera as you leave. Among other things that may incriminate you are lockpicks, which I don't personally take but I know some others may choose to.

I've found that the best way to store/hide these items is within a flashlight. Simply find the right size flashlight, remove the batteries or battery case, wrap up your cards or *cough* tools *cough*, and drop em in the empty flashlight. To keep them from making noise inside the flashlight just pack it with tissues or bubble wrap. Typically if you were ever searched no one would care to open up a flashlight and check inside.

Any other suggestions? What are your preferred methods of storing questionable items?

Best thing to do is bring condoms. Place SD cards in condom, tie a knot and shove them up your ass.

Not a bad idea if you just put the card in the condom package.

If they catch you leaving then they already know you were inside, so I don't see the point in going to great lengths to hide any of your stuff.

Hahaha. You don't think cops look inside flash lights? Come now. Give them a bit more credit. Best way to hide anything is in plain site. And if they caught ya on the way out pics are not gonna make much difference. Now if your worried they might delete them just swap your SD with a blank before ya leave. Keeps them from hunting for it. Also damn near anything can be a burglary tool by a cops definition. So hide the lock pics and suddenly that tri-pod is a burglary tool. You're sweating this a bit much.

All good points, it was simply an idea. I've honestly never had or wanted to hide anything before but I thought I'd throw it out there and get some input.

On second thought, this one is foolproof! 1.Buy fake dog poop as in picture. 2. Cut appropriate slot in said fake poop. 3. Insert incriminating SD card in fake poop. 4. Insert fake poop into anus. 5. Laugh at the cops as they body cavity search you only to find...Poop.

I don't hide anything. California doesn't have the same harsh laws as other states.
Also fuck cops.

I just put an SD card with a few pics of my truck into my camera before I leave the site, the cops have wanted to see my pics before (Edmonton Police) because they couldn't confirm I was trespassing. I showed them the camera and they checked the saved images on the card.... no issues. The card with all my abandoned hospital pics was just inside a pocket of my cargo pants. 5.11 cargo pants have so many pockets that even a good officer can easily miss an SD card.

Pretty sure most cops get trained on common hiding spots (mostly for drugs). If they're doing a thorough search they'll probably find your stuff, then you'll be viewed with more suspicion because you knowingly hid it.

That's not to say you can't store a memory card in a legitimate but not overly obvious place, like an obscure pocket of a bag or slipped inside a first aid kit or something. Swap cards if you have a chance, then if the other one is found, well, gosh, it got full or had an error and you just now switched to your spare.

If you somehow need to bring "special" items that would cause more trouble, make a special trip with them and be prepared to drop/stash them on-site if something comes up. It sucks to drop a $30 set of picks, but it beats a $100 ticket (and you benefit people like me, who found picks that someone else dropped ). In general I try not to explore with anything ridiculously incriminating, but as others have said, pretty much anything can be a "burglary tool" if the cop wants to be a dick about it.

I stay in Hayward a lot. Kinda recently we were watched by Fremont pd but they didn't approach us. Suprising too cuz we were running down train tracks wearing headlamps in full daylight. I flopped down in an abandoned sofa where tracks meet street. Police looked then just drove off.
Do you look hella young? Lotsa cops punk kids (or what they perceive as kids) in general. We look very adult-ish
