First opened in 1898 by a native of Genoa, Italy, this "General Store" sold everything from food, to dry goods, tools, and even has a persimmon tree out back (word up to the Italian homies)!
When it closed in 1971, it was under the assumption that it would only be for a "few days".
Unfortunately, a few days stretched to weeks and due to illness, the store remained closed indefinitely.
The last remaining relative lives nearby and the store is now used as a museum.
99% of the items seen here are original to the store in their original locations. The other "1%" were sold by the store and donated back.

| | | | Very neat. There are definitely more than a few gems in that place. The newspaper in particular stood out to me; that's an amazing piece of history.

| | | | Nice pics, great piece of history. There's a place very similar to this in Spreckels close to where I am, but the old lady that runs it, who's family were the original owners, strictly forbids anyone to take photos of the inside.
