Went and explored a ghost town in the prairies in southern Saskatchewan. Excuse the image quality, I only had the droid' on me.

The equipment in the third picture looks like a dentist x-ray machine.

Maybe the church doubled as a medical clinic. And yes, that is a dental x-ray machine. I remember those being used on me as a child.

Unfortunately, salvage efforts are slowly reclaiming the town. It looks like people might be living in two of the houses.

That's unfortunate at least I got to see a bit of history through your photos.

Most likely the latter. It looked like someone was working on the white & burgundy house (locked doors, tool/gloves/new windows lying around, hauling truck, etc) when I was out there a month before you.

I'm curious as to why they're even attempting salvage efforts.

from what I've read the theatre is to be moved to a town near by for historical preservation which is awesome whenever the money gets there. As for salvage sounds like the lots were on kijiji for $1000 which in a booming economy hell buy the whole town. NEW 2 bedroom condo in saskatoon is about 400,000!! I'm not sure what the end result is to be but I know a lot of people still have ties to this town .

I will be returning to take a more thorough look also to compare the photos i just took to look for evidence of anything being moved i.e a red truck (maroon) with a cap on the main st also the trailer which i didnt notice until after.

Ok so HUGE update returned to this location today . there was life in the town.
Talked to the one farmer lives a mile over turns out he owns the house on the north end of main st. The building with the 2 car garage turns out its the towns former railway station .

He is pushing hard to get his property sustainable. They are trying to lure people to the town who are interested in a quiter lifestyle. he is installing his own septic . on the north end there are new power lines also .

They have been having a lot of problems with vandalism turns out there are cameras mounted around town.

For those who want to visit the people we met were friendly just took the direct approach and made no attempt to be sneaky.

I agree, There's no use trying to be sneaky if it only makes you look more suspicious...especially in a ghost town with only a few residents left and where everybody knows everybody.

I usually just walk into abandoned buildings as if the place belonged to me without even looking over my shoulder (providing the door is unlocked obviously.)

It's a different story when the place is under surveillance...

Makes sense. All of the houses (even the boarded up ones) have new looking digital meters

Props to the farmer for trying to preserve the town. At least it can't/won't be demo'd.
