Captain Kirkbride’s Gang Bang- “It keeps me awake at night.” < on 4/14/2013 1:37 AM >
Call it bad luck, had to bolt before we could really see whatever could be considered the better parts. Sketched out by the legend of “Steve” we tried to find our way around, navigating through the building which, for us, meant navigating through collapse.
Climbing and crawling only lead to an actual confrontation with Steve. (I had seen his truck earlier on the campus safely from inside.) He came out of nowhere and tried to stall us while on the phone with the cops.
While it was bad luck that we were found on the campus, luck returned to our side as we managed to successfully win a game of hide and seek with State Troopers in the parking lot where the car was parked. Thankfully our windows were tinted enough that nether Steve, nor the Trooper could not see us as they pulled right up along side our vehicle as we waited at the stop light to exit the parking lot.

Calvin, I'm not sure if I was in the same place as you, but this same thing happened to me approx. a month ago, the only difference is that I did get caught. Dust and Rust

Great shots, especially H14 and H21, crisp, great lighting... Sucks about the guard, maybe weekends are the best time for this place... http://www.flickr....otos/96576503@N00/

Nice shots. You gotta be careful with him, he's caught many an explorer (not me, yet). Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 50mm 1.2, Canon 28mm 1.8, Canon 16-35 f2.8L http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevenbley/

I didn't get to go in that building when I went the first time, I went to the sturdier one. First time I went I had no problems but I went back a couple months ago and got caught and met "Steve." They increased security because of an increase in scrappers. Find yourself in the unknown.

Thank you thank you thank you!
Have no fear, I will return!
I might even go just to capture footage of Steve. Maybe a mini-doc on how that guy spends his day... "By the prick of my thumb something wicked this way comes..." "Under the cover of night, I travel across rooftops while you dream of adventure."

I've never seen him in person, just trucks and cars driving around, including a brand new BMW, which I find odd a security guard would drive.
I'd love to see a photo of him.
White guy, khaki pants, Walmart button up shirt, hair combed to the side, flip phone.
Picture the dad from "Teen Wolf".
At first he was hostile towards me, remarking that he didn't like the looks of my "professional" video camera. Then, while stalling me for the arrival for cops he became very concerned with the chances that I MAY have entered some of the "unsafe" buildings.
He asked "Which website did I go to, to find out about this place?" as well as if my car was in the HD parking lot. "By the prick of my thumb something wicked this way comes..." "Under the cover of night, I travel across rooftops while you dream of adventure."

Posted by Vampirequeen Great pictures! I keep trying to pick a favorite, but they're all awesome!
I almost stopped by on my way home from New Paltz on Saturday, but now I'm kind of glad that I didn't.
This spot requires a bit more skill then your last posted adventure. Please do not solo this on your own. "By the prick of my thumb something wicked this way comes..." "Under the cover of night, I travel across rooftops while you dream of adventure."

We went here two days in a row... the first day the truck was driving around right outside of the building we were in... actually parked outside while we were walking around and then we heard the car door close. By that point we were freaked out that he might have heard us so we bounced.
Next day we were doing our thing and 2 guys came walking into the building I was in and pulled something out of the basement or 1st floor and threw it in the back of a truck.
That was that. We waited it out.
But I do know at least one or two people now that have been caught here. "Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore." - Andre Gide

Damn fine set Calvin, too bad about your "Steve" run in but glad you made it out safe. Guess I been lucky on my visits here, I have seen him in action from the safety of a rooftop as he busted what appeared to be some local punks... now with 20% less clown vomit...

Great set of photo's as usual...I haven't been back there in a year but from what I hear the vandals and scrappers have really laid waste to the place. The admin building which was relatively untouched with Graff has been really dogged, same thing with Snow and Ryon.. My Site: http://www.nycfstop.com Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/asf73/sets/

Can someone tell me the "Steve" story please?
And woah - you can get in trouble for simply walking the grounds? That's crazy! I guess Canada and US are very different when it comes to exploring. My Blog; https://historyindecay.blogspot.com/
