| General stuff entry by Freak 6/30/2004 7:41 AM
| So in real life I've been pretty busy, working on my junker sailboat and trying to get the thing livable by the end of the summer. I'm not even going to try to get it sailable this year, but my goal is to get it waterproof and set up as a liveaboard so I sort of have a place of my own to crash when I come home. My repairs were helped somewhat when a derelict boat showed up on the beach, and I was able to salvage some cabinets and other parts. The cargo of moldy beer containers and trash indicates it was dumped by some local rednecks, but I figured if they're going to park their ride in my ghetto the least I can do is the equivalent of stealing the rims and stereo. I'm trying to think of a use for the thing rather than just letting it sink, maybe I'll slap a Type R sticker on the side and make a plywood spoiler, then I'll be cool even with a tiny engine! Lets see... also filled out the FAFSA form for federal student aid. What a poorly designed piece of crap. If it wasn't for my promise to complete it in an effort to get work-study funding for my campus job I'd have given up. The programming on their web interface is mediocre at best, the questions are poorly orgahnized, intrusive, and often redundant, and the "authentication" form is a pointless joke that nonetheless pops up several times in a row for no reason. Stupid government. wow, this journal thing is really fun, I need to find more stuff to rant about!
