Yukon Territory, Nothern Canada.

Hey all, I don't know if there's any other Yukoners out there but considering the pretty epic history of the Yukon and Alaskan Klondike Gold rush (1898) I'm surprised there's not more locations listed on the database. Perhaps there are but I'm not a full member so I'm posting some photos here. There's so many abandoned miners cabins, ore processing factories, dredges, mines, roadhouses... This place (now with 30,000 people to almost 500,000 sq km) is a quiet serene little nook in northern Canada with a history that reads like an epic adventure book, with all the decaying remnants to prove it. When I was hiking once I found two Canadian coins, one from 1976 and one from 1898. The were huge. I'd love to see other folks photos from this area, cause I know they're out there...

Anyway, here's the the main building of the Robinson Roadhouse. Check out the first picture! That tea cup is perfect!

As someone who grew up on Robert Service poems, thanks for this. Love seeing some of the locale, because I'm not sure if I'll ever make it there in my lifetime!

The lighting looks outstanding even beyond just how special the places must be. Try uploading your next photos on an alternate website though, even Photobucket works. The UER uploader doesn't just make them small, it negatively affects the light, color, and makes the lines notably jagged. People will basically ask you to from here on, lol.

Thanks for the tip, I'll do that next time. The nice thing up here is in the summer the sun never sets, so you have daylight all night basically. No need for flashlights! It has some advantages.

awesome!!

One day I hope to get up north to explore - it looks so bad ass and wild, kinda like stepping into a time capsule.

I am surprised how trashed the place is o.0

Nevermore
