A huge locashun!

During SEAPEX, we got to visit a large industrial facility.

We entered through the basement.

Then we went upstairs.

It was hard to believe that they would build something like this and then just abandon it.

There were a lot of pipes.

The place was full of asbestos.

There was security, but they stuck to their little shack the whole time.

Almost no evidence of taggers, scrappers or squatters.

Although the decay from years of neglect was evident in some places.

We climbed to dizzying heights.

And walked across some very sketchy catwalks.

But it was worth it when we found the control room...

And then, the view from the control room observation window.

As we left in our helicopter, we took this.

OK, fine I lied. This was a miniature model of a nuclear plant. And after we explored the model, we got to see the real thing! I guarantee very shortly, we will be seeing a ton of photo threads from inside the actual plant here, so I thought I would do something different.

AWESOME SHOTS!!!! Wish I could've seen a lot of those places which I wasn't able to and totally missed the tour that I wanted to attend.

Anyway, great job DJ Craig!!! Love all your explanations, especially the helicopter, lol

Craig, you are the FUCKING MAN!

The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark.

not wanting to enter through the dirty basement, Alice & i took the Tardis in & explored some too.

while there we had to avoid the huge Legosaurus Rex guard dino, on our way out i snagged this last shot from inside the Tardis.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

interesting how perception works. I swear that dino was actually the Cheshire cat, grinning at us through the Tardis window.

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

All right Craig, you really had me going there for a minute and I'm thinking "what the hell is going on with all that Plexiglas in a place like this and its an interesting photographic style but it makes everything look miniature". Good one man, sorry I missed it.

Wow this is really a cool place its hard to tell reality from fiction. The Dymo tape labels look weird. I just can't tell what I am looking at! That mystery makes the photography even more artistic. It all looks so clean and sterile with smooth pastel colors blending together.

Had me going for a bit, until I noticed the black label maker labels, great post haha. Photo #4 is probably the most deceptive.

In 2009 Craig posted a story about our visit to "Old King Coal". For a while the links to photos were broken after we had trouble with hackers, but they are back online again. So those who haven't seen it before might like to take a virtual tour down memory lane. It was visited by 3800 so there aren't many who haven't seen it.

PS. This is not a model - really!
