|  | | | I know this is a bit photo-heavy, but it is worth it. But first... the back-story!
I got up at 4:30 am last weekend to get out under the cover of darkness and get into this recently condemned house (Feb 2012) in my neck of the woods. I got all the way there, made it into the house, made it into the upstairs rooms and discovered the most HORRIFIC sight I could ever imagine:
The SD slot in my camera was empty.
Damn that UER website and uploading pictures!!!
Grrr... I at least tried to resecure my POE, memorizing exactly what it looked like so that I could return in a week and be able to tell if the owner visited in between my visits. Skip forward to this morning, one week later. 5:00 am this morning I was off again, only to discover with total dismay that my POE looked like it had been tampered with. My heart sunk but then I remembered that it was very windy in Niagara yesterday afternoon and weather might have been the culprit. So in I went. Standing in the darkness I tried to catch my breath. It was so rank and disgusting (the house, I mean ha ha). Suddenly I clearly heard footsteps walking around upstairs. SHIT!! Out I went and back to my vehicle, ready to drive away and call it quits.
Then reality started to sink in. Really?????? Did the property owner REALLY notice that I had intruded and come here this morning to stand in absolute filth for hours and wait on the off chance that someone would return this weekend? All I could year was Anthrax echoing in my head, mocking me with "Paranoooooooooia! Amped and wirrrrrrred!"
With no vehicle parked anywhere near the house, I realized how absurd that would be. I returned for the 3rd time but said "screw it" and pulled right into the driveway and got out with orange vest and clipboard right with morning cars going by. I tried to appear confident walking into the house, called out hello and demanded that the occupant upstairs come down. When I received no response I went up and sent a family of raccoons scurrying for the rafters.

11. Seriously, tell me it does not look several demons were slaughtered in here. Filth everywhere... old razors piled around the sink, a bathtub cesspool of Dahmer-like leachate, decapitation splatter marks everywhere and a toilet bowl that I cropped out so that you wouldn't lose your last meal! It was full, and not of rabbit-raisins.

I was thinking the same thing. Could it be possible that the city actually had to kick people out of here?? Or, did they just officially post the house many years afterwards? I don't think so, because the other peculiar thing can be found in this shot (not included above):
I found it strange that with the bizarre condition of this house, the only thing listed on here was the lack of heating. Surely the house did not reach this condition after Feb 2012! So may the heating issue was just the city's way of legally getting the occupant out of here?

Sounds great! The pickings are a bit shabby, but like Dallas1983 was saying to me previously, the location maybe less in number but they've had a lot less UE/RE traffic.

I think the city could have condemned the property with no problems,judging by the state of the place,whether someone was living there WHILE it became like this,or a it was already like this when a squatter moved.No electricity either IE the portable lantern and flashlight
Perhaps the sign was put up there to scare people off? I dunno.

I know... I stopped and had a Timmies breakfast sandwich on the way home and actually went inside their bathroom and washed my hands and mouth with soap and alcohol sanitizer before eating.
