Here's my current heat sync.
http://www.coolerguys.com/840556018322.html

I just ordered a 5700 RPM 80mm fan for it. My current setup is very quiet but it still runs a little warmer then I like. My case does a really good job of muffling the CPU fan, so I figured I could deal with the increase of sound for better cooling. I think that will be good when I have to move back into the un-airconditioned dorm and the rooms are sitting at about 95 degrees. My current CPU temp in air-conditioning runs around 135F with a 3000 RPM fan. My hope is to drop the CPU to about 110, then I will be happy.

You need monitoring software. You've got an e-machine? Hmn... you probably don't have the best motherboard in that case. Google "motherboard monitor". Download that. My ASUS P4P800 SE and my previous P4S533-X came with monitoring software on the CD (ASUS Probe on P4S, AI Booster on P4P).

AI Booster lets me overclock, change fan speeds, and play with voltage for CPU, PCI, AGP and RAM from Windows. Its really useful, I hate doing it from the BIOS.

yeah the mobo is a piece of shit, no overclocking capabilities or anything. im thinking about scrapping the mobo and buying a new one and putting it all in a new case. however that would run me up $300 that i dont have.

you have to take the motherboard completely out of the case and then screw the heatsink on to the back of the motherboard....kind of hard to explain.

After shopping a bit I found this cooler to be the best in that it has a good balance of cfm and pressure and only puts out 17db.

Cooler Master Ultra Vortex

http://www.svc.com/kcc-v91-u1-19.html
Fan Speed 1400~3000rpm
Fan Airflow 26.84~57.51 CFM
Fan Air Pressure 0.036 in-H2O ~ 0.165 in-H2O
rifle bearings

Compared to my second choice:
Zalman CNPS7000A-ALCU

Fan Speed 1350-2400rpm
Fan Airflow 18.5-43.20 CFM
Fan Air Pressure 0.019 in-H20 - 0.098 in-H20
ball bearings

I've been feeling funny since I went in that open crypt. Not sure what it is.
