There are various things I will NOT do to get into a property.I love exploring,and I am not above the law,but I will not put myself or anyone I am with at risk

I will NOT

1.Go beyond gates that are padlocked

2.Make my own POE into the house,including ripping down boards

3.Cut fences

4.Explore properties near heavily populated areas (farmers carry salt guns and pellet guns here)Ever been shot in the ass with a salt gun?

Now in saying all the above,I explore rural areas only (For now) and for the most part,there are places that are still actively used by farmers,and I found out that just because someone farms a property,doesnt mean he owns it.Alot of times if a place is abandoned,the farmer will take over the land and use it to his advantage

Are there specific things you will not do?

I live in a rural area as well, so the places here are relatively isolated. As far as guns are concerned, it's illegal to shoot people here. So that's my luck I guess. I have never been shot, but a salt gun shot in the ass sounds pretty painful. As to the things I will not do:

1. I will NEVER cause property damage to gain entrance.

2. When I encounter a warning for a security system, I go home and look it up. If it seems legit, I'm not trying to enter again the same way.

For the rest I will pretty much do whatever seems to be a solid idea at the time, so I guess I'm a bit reckless in that aspect.

If you are afraid of farmers, maybe you should try exploring in heavily populated areas? Most of the abandonments I visit are in a city with a population density of 17 030 per square kilometer, and I can't remember the last time I heard about a firearms-related death over here.

As far as padlocked gates, what are you afraid of? Just find a way around or jump that shit. "I was just trying to get back to the road; I don't know how I got stuck in here."

As for things I won't do, I try not to leave my own garbage behind, unless it's empty bottles in drains.

Everything I won't do pretty much falls under B&E. If a place is locked up tight, and I can't find anyone to ask to let me in, oh well. But if I can walk right in, fair game, fences can be climbed and signs ignored. That's just me.

I also won't trash a place either, but I guess that goes without saying for most of us, I hope, since we enjoy these places for reasons other than a convenient location to vent our tween rage.

I wont trash a place or leave garbage behind.As for padlocked gates,yes I have jumped over them a time or two.Maybe I am a wussie,but when I see a "no trespassing" sign...it's just a whisper of "come in" ,however,when I see a big metal gate,heaving padlocked,that screams "KEEP OUT"

I think it also has to do with the time and day.If I have been out all day and see a place all gated,chances are I am too dang tired to bother with it and note it for a later date.

If I am feeling all pumped up and adrenalin high,then I will take the chance,grab the extra pair of cahones outta my purse and go for it

SpiritWalker, there was a time when all of the things on your list scared the shit out of me. Granted, I still won't B&E. But inevitably if you keep exploring, you'll get more confident.

I was going to try to write a list of my own, but I realized that almost everything I could think of was obvious stuff that is not really acceptable in the UE community anyway, like stealing for profit or tagging. But I can say, I don't really have any interest in doing active subway systems. It would take a lot of convincing from someone very experienced to get me to do it. Same goes for some types of mines.

I will not steal, break or deface anything.

Loading shotgun shells with rocksalt actually does nothing. It's as much a myth as cow-tipping. There is 0 penetration, so the salt won't get into your wound, so it won't hurt...the only thing that could hurt is getting hit with the plastic wad. My friend and I have reloaded with rocksalt, and many other crazy loads, and there's also this:

I won't take anything from properties except photos...that's about the only rule for me. If I stopped at every locked gate, barbed wire fence, or no trespassing sign I'd have barely any photos.
