Finally went to visit this place today. It was surprisingly easy to get to as there was a public footpath running alongside and the grounds weren't really blocked off at all. Not much chance of getting inside though.

1. Coming up to the house from Holyhead town.

7. Looking from Porth Y Felin House towards Soldiers Point House. Two beautiful derelict buildings within spitting distance of each other.

The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

My Nain (Grandma) is very interested in local buildings and architecture and has a few books on the subject. I managed to find a little information on Porth Y Felin in one of her books. I don't know if anyone else is interested but I like to know a little bit about the history of the places I'm visiting.

"Porth Y Felin, large stucco mansion (derelict 2006) built c. 1849 for the resident engineer G.F. Dobson by the contractor [for the breakwater], Charles Rigby, possibly to Dobson's design. Italianate with a pedimented centre and big three sided bays to each end."

It's not much but it's the most I can find about the place!

This location is beautiful! Has anyone been in recently or have any info on whether it is still there?
