Here is a super run down school I found. I've explored this place multiple times last year. After a little web browsing, it seems that this school has a good string of history. It closed back in 2005 after running 90+ years to the public. Since its closure, there have been 2 small fires that have broken out on the inside, most likely due to thugs. I did not find an major damage so it was tended to quickly, but the inside is still in rough shape.
The school ran K-5th grade and was most likely a church school of some sort based on what I found on the inside. Majority of the students were also African American. I have read a few other articles of what the city is "planning" to do with this vacant building, but they apparently lack the funding to do so, so its just an empty hobo sanctuary at the moment.
POE was an adventure. I crawled in through venting slits in the side. All the doors and windows were sealed up tight which made being in there all the more exhilarating. Not to mention that this was also in a "ghetto" part of town. I returned a few days ago this year to film some video content and found a few surprises in there since last year's visit. I'll upload that video in a week or two. Enjoy the pics!
