Abandoned spaces in the Bay Area for an event?

Hey all - I'm looking for spaces in the Bay Area where I can host an event and play loud music (EDM bangers, that type of stuff). Probably around ~50 people, maybe more. We'd bring a dj controller, a ton of speakers, etc and have a good time. My first thought was to do it at an abandoned warehouse or field somewhere, which is why I came here to ask if anyone had any suggestions.

Does anyone know of abandoned / secluded spaces like fields or warehouses that would work for this kind of thing?

Note - if this thread doesn't follow the forum rules somehow, please let me know and I'll take this down immediately. I'm new here and am still learning the rules!

Thanks so much!

I don't see why you don't just rent an empty warehouse.

Hey geezr,

You didn't specify whether you want to organize an event with proper authorization or without it. Since you're looking for "abandoned" spaces, I'm going to assume you are not looking for authorization here.
I can see the appeal of this, but hosting an unauthorized event in a warehouse with "a ton of speakers" is likely to not go unnoticed from the neighbors, and your party might get shutdown very quickly. I don't know any warehouse in the Bay Area that is secluded enough to avoid this issue entirely. And the more secluded a place is, the harder it is to bring a large group of people in...

I think there are places out there that can fit your idea, but you'll have to think a lot more about potential legal and safety risks involved, both for yourself and other guests.

Hope that helps.

Events like your idea seem to be a thing of the past.

I am not sure anyone would be willing to risk sharing a local spot for an event like this one.

Maybe look through some of the old PSW threads for a spot that was recently demolished within the past 3 months.

Also, you've been here just about a year and only 3 posts to your name?

I disagree about this being a, “thing of the past.” Last year I attended a illegal party in a warehouse walking distance from the abandoned Tag Cathedral. They used car batteries for lighting and had what looked like two portable generators which provided energy for the dj equipment. Party went uninterrupted and lasted way past 4am! Worst non working restrooms lol. The same guys who threw that party also hosted a dope abandoned house party before in the Los Altos Hills.

Most of these Full members won’t give up locations and are known for being hard on newbies. You’ll read about that in many threads through out the website.

Keep looking / sending people messages and you’ll find a place to host an event. Just be careful!!

Not giving out locations has nothing to do with 'being hard on newbies'. I've personally seen what can happen to a good location after it's been publicized. Things disappear, fires start, and tags show up EVERYWHERE. People care about certain locations for a reason.

Often large gatherings of this sort are not thoughtful about the sensitivity of many locations. I would urge you to look into a more formal event if you are going to plan one.

There are good locations for what the OP is requesting. These old members will give you a hard time. Yea send some people some DM and you will find a place to host the event. Good luck!

Isn’t this website based on giving up locations for people to enjoy. Hence why your here correct. We all upload photos and create threads so are you referencing all of us?? In a way if we really cared about location integrity, why bother uploading locations at all?
