Snow, steam, and graf kids
< on 3/2/2020 6:01 AM >

Here's an abandoned steam plant I visited back in early January. Lots of rust, snow, and graffiti; a classic industrial ruin.

Funny story, I got separated from the other people I was exploring it with and ran into a couple of graffiti kids (a boy and a girl who both looked about 16) inside while trying to follow the echoing voices of my group. Apparently they got spooked and tried to sneak out only to run into me coming up the stairs. I reassured them I wasn't supposed to be there any more than they were and just there to take photos. We parted ways, only to run into each other again near the entrance. I actually had to give one of them instructions on how to climb out the PoE because she couldn't figure it out and her friend was telling her to "just jump" out a window 15 feet up onto icy, uneven ground.

Anyway, this also served as a test run for my new DSLR camera I got back in December, so without further ado, I give you the pics.

I'm shooting with a Canon Rebel TI3 that I recently bought off another explorer who was upgrading their gear. Still figuring out a lot of the features, but it's an actual DSLR camera so it already takes shots of a lot higher clarity than my old point and shoot Fujifilm A220.

The T series is a solid camera line to work with. RAW really opens up new possibilities in dimly lit urbex places. And your pocket book will take a hit when you start seeing them. ;)
