Project 365- January
< on 2/1/2020 6:57 AM >

I started, on January first. A photo a day project. And will hopefully continue this whole year with it. I finished the first month today.

The project is to take a photo every day. I am posting all photos to Flickr. And, each photo has to be taken on each day. I can't use a photo taken another time to substitute another day.

Anyway. I think I will share each month, at the end of the month. Some are exploring related, some are not.

It has proven difficult to get creative every day, and I believe will get more difficult as the year progresses.

Anyway, here it is!

That's this month, and this year so far.

Almost all photos were taken with a 28mm lens, with one of two large sensor fixed lens compact cameras I like to use. A couple cell phone shots, I think 2. And one with a 50mm lens.

I've really been struggling wanting to utilize, and like using the 50mm focal length. I used to do it often. But I am having a hard time visualizing with that one. I have found 28mm to be very natural, and have grown very accustom to seeing that way.

Love this challenge I'm going to start this challenge as well. Almost all of the pictures depicts a different mood. The tractor in the field and day 29 are my favorite.

Think you could challenge yourself to a picture a day of different abandonments?

Jan 4th and 14th are my two favorites from these. Looking forward to February.

That would be awesome. But there aren't enough abandonments in my area actually.
And I wouldn't have the time. I have to make the project a part of my daily life as it regularly happens.

I do drive by a crazy amount of abandoned cars though. I try to stop and get a shot every time I pass one.

4th, 14th, 15th, and 26th, worthy of framing IMO. Photo a day challenges are hard! I wish you luck.

Lots of these are great! It's good to have a project that pushes you to go out and create.

Nice work, keep at it!

I've done 365 projects myself and I can attest that they are extremely difficult to fulfill, but make you a better photographer by the end of the year.

Dont give up on them.

Thanks! I actually browsed through your 365 album on Flickr a couple times when I decided to do it for some inspiration!

I tried this a longgggg time ago and failed. I made it a few months and gave up because I felt like I was repeating myself/playing it safe.

That said... these are all really great. Good work so far, keep it up!!

Great daily shooting! Have to admire your challenge. Was so happy to reach Day 25 and see a beach cabin and some water. I hope one day this month you will find another place near the lovely water there.... an old motel/ hotel would be so much fun for you to find. But, i realize you may not have that opportunity where you are located. Your photos are beautiful no matter what you happen upon. My fave is day 12. Such a lonely patch of road.

These are all great photo's. I like your project. Would be interesting to see all 365 at the end of the year. I tried something similar and what was nice is that I started naturally to gradually focus on specific ideas and they developed further into more focused subject matter ... and eventually books.

Thanks RAYGUN! I have an ongoing album on Flickr for this project.

And, I'll probably compile all my posts here, with links to each month, plus showcasing maybe a highlight photo of each month, in one final post probably in January of next year.
