I read your recommendations and I'm giving Lightroom a shot. I think I'll be messing around with it for a while, lol. randomesquephoto, thanks especially for your examples! I'm going to refer to them often while I try my hand at this.

Awesome. Message me anytime if you have questions.

adv.pack has the best advice. Make it as real to the scene as possible.

I don't have any opinion on what software to use. My only suggestion is, make it look as true to life as possible. Remember what the scene looks like in person, then match that look while editing. I shoot film because it gets me closer to reality with less editing. My opinion.

I agree with Adv.Pack, make it look at true to life as you see it (if you can). You'll look back at the photos in 5 years and think "why did i edit it so strangely". It has to transcend popular trends and be a photograph that can stand the test of time.

I use photoshop. I dont go crazy. straightening lines, adjust levels (a must if you want it to pop) and a little bit of sharpening, maybe a crop. That's as far I usually go.

Shoot in raw and you can do most in Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw (for Photoshop). Adobe has a $10 a month photo package that you cant go wrong with.

play around and try new things. You'll figure out your style as you go.
