got lucky in a 1901 cotton mill
< on 1/21/2017 4:52 AM >

More pics on my flickr. This is a cotton mill, original buildings built in 1901. active from 1901 to 1955. forced to close because it couldn't compete with Japanese markets.
I didn't really 'get lucky'. I got lucky because there was a man on a forklift in there. I managed to get around him and he didn't even know I was there. He left eventually and I was able to get shots in the mechanical room (where he was), he did come back after a while, but I was already out and walking down the street. shew. over all was a neat place

Nice find. Abandoned textile mills around here are usually empty, like your first interior shot. Finding stuff inside is a bonus, although to be honest, it looks like most of what's there has nothing to do with the textile industry and was moved there after the mill closed.

That first photo is spectacular! Good shots all around too.
