3D cell Maglite-LED Model.- works great.
I use some sorta little LED for everyday use. It uses 3 AAA batterys. its shock/water proof..I can't really screw either one of mine up haha

Energizer E2 Lithium.

I just bought the middle flashlight last night and I must say I'm really liking it. Very light with shatter resistant glass, waterproof for up to thirty minutes under three feet of water and 112 lumens. What's really nice, you hold the power button down to reduce the light so it won't be as bright. It also has automatic shut off after thirty minutes so if you forget to turn it off it won't drain your batteries. It's about the size of a fat pen, so easy to hide as well.

I generally carry my 3D Mag with both the LED and incan bulbs, but don't really use it except as the backup light. I've replaced it with the LED Lenser P7 that I got from work... far lighter and brighter than the Mag ever was.

I'm hooked on LED Lenser products - about a year ago bought 7438 and was satisfied with it, even though it wasn't the best product from them.

Highlights of LED Lenser: focusable, LED, bright, water and shockproof. Only drawback is the AAA batteries - I would prefer something with more capacity.

Recently I bought LED Lenser H7 headlight - focusable, dimmable, pretty light and damn powerful. This torch now satisfies my UE enlightenment needs just fine - and in battery pack there is a place for AA batteries with some modification, or even Li cells - with some knowledge in electronics and fiddling around to find a way not to kill the Cree LED.

Ability to change the focus - one of the most important/required features of torch in UE, i guess - especially, if you use the torch as a light source for your UE photos, where spot (default setting for non-focusable torches) simply doesn't fit (especially in close-ups).

Most likely only from someone who owns it already - that site belongs to the manufacturer (and sole seller, perhaps?). I don't know when a similar thing will be available. The cool white is a fine torch as well, but the Quark MiNi is available in Neutral White (for now). It's always a limited-demand thing, so they don't produce many of them.

Yeah, that's the only source, since they're the manufacturer! However, all is not lost. That link is to the neutral-white version, and the cool white version is still available. If it's any consolation, the cool white version are slightly brighter than the neutral/warm white lights.

Now, they've just upgraded all the lights, from R2 emitters to R5 ones. The difference in output is about 15%, which sounds significant but really isn't in practice. This is relevant because they're selling out the R2 versions at a discount, and throwing in a free 'Prism' headband and diffuser kit to turn the thing into a headlamp (kit is normally $20)!

If I was buying a quark now, I'd get this:

Quark AA Tactical, R2 edition (which ships with free Prism kit)

Quark 123 Body, which will let you use the above with 1 CR123A battery. Or, alternatively, the 1xAA body, though running on a single AA will be substantially dimmer.

One of the guys on the Torch, Flashlight and Portable Lighting board arranged a discount code with 4Sevens: UER10. I'm not sure if that will work with the already-discounted R2 light, though.

Hooray for gadget shopping!

Novatac lights are excellent everyday carry lights are small plenty small enough and bright (120 Lumens). They feature several modes from full on 120 lumens to 10 to .3 for those times that you don't want to light anything more than where you are walking. They also have a disorienting strobe feature that can come in handy.

Although they are fairly pricey, more on the line of surefire I would recommend them if you want something small, bright and reliable that you can carry with you all the time.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that yesterday, I bought a 10-million candle power cordless re-chargeable spot light. I tried it out in the Wellington tunnel in Montreal, Québec, Canada, and it was amazing. Of course, It's pretty big and bulky, but, it gives away such a wide light stream.

I would say that it's ideal for big buildings, tunnels, sewers, etc, etc....

If you're a good gang exploring, take turns carrying it.

I use a 2D Cell Maglite LED and a Romisen RC-N3 II with the Q5 Cree LED. Both are nice and bright, although i've only had approx. 3 hours of continuous use in one exploration, each of them were still very bright (i was using one, my buddy had the other)

I told my buddy about the NOMA flashlight and he picked one up and he likes it. Just repeating what others have said, but its good for the price.

MXDL SA-28. Check out the beam shot in "Ultimate Flashlight Test - Russia" in the Tutorials/Useful Info Section.

Although the total light output is definitely less than some of the Fenix, etc, it's throw is incredible. It illuminates the back wall in the shot as well as many of the other lights in the test that cost between 900 - 2200$ USD.

It's 15$.

I'll post a quality review after I've used it a few times, should arrive in a couple weeks.

If you do decide to go for it, make sure to get the more recent, and brighter Q5 model, not the older Q2.

Unfortunately, this spotlight is not as good as I thought. The light burnt out and I didn't even use it that much. The bulbs are very difficult to get and they are $16.95. I do not want to spend that amount of money 3 to 4 times a year just for lights. DO NOT BUY THIS TYPE OF LIGHT.
