Funny that....

There's a little town north of the Grand Canyon that parks a cop car on the main street (one stoplight town) and has a mannequin in the front seat dressed up like a cop complete with mirror sunglasses. Always get a chuckle when I head up that way.

I went to an abandoned school, the front windows were covered in chain-link and boarded up. No trespassing signs were everywhere. The building looked fairly secured... bits of broken glass here and there, but no obvious POEs. aaand the main door was unlocked.

In an active apartment building, here's an "in case you need to enter, break glass and take key." Not too sure what the key opens.

The fence around a place was in bad shape. It seemed like it had been cut every few yards along its length. Recently they decided to do something about it and replaced the entire thing.

When my group got there, we walked right in - they'd forgotten to close the gate.

My original post on this long-lived thread has had a broken image for a long time, but I dug it up:

Let's cover ONE WHOLE RUNG of the ladder! NO ONE will be able to climb past THAT!

^ We have a ton of those style ladders in my town. But the covered part usually goes about 8 feet up or so. I just climb up the backside of the ladder against the wall on them. Works every time.

Building is boarded up tight. Doors are all welded/screwed shut except for one. Operable door has a key box. Go home, learn to manipulate key box, return a couple of weeks later. Open key box. Discover that the code was set to the factory default all along.

Hey, at least we learned a new skill!

Can't find the picture on my hellishly organized laptop, but at the Riverview mental hospital in one of the roof corners of the East Lawn building, there's a camera.

Until you climb further up and get a better look

The thing is literally the husk of an ancient camera filled with toilet paper to make it look like it has a lens inside

This hatch was wide open for about two weeks before they finally closed it (without a padlock).

The other night I walked up to a locked fence, then noticed it had a key box with a combination on it. The last person to use it didn't turn the spinner after they closed it, so I opened it up and took their key.
Serves you right, you lazy shit

A location I was at had a door that was locked with a cable lock, but they didn't tighten it enough so you could just open the door and slip through. Even my friend who is considerably large managed to get through with relative ease.

From a while ago...someone decided to take the handle off of the front door. Then screwed a chisel in place of the handle. Maybe it was supposed to be too sharp to handle...?

This former apple juice canning facility has literally nothing inside. Is this even necessary?

Based on that door frame, it looks like it opens to the inside.

much better than the 1 rung example, but still, like another poster explained, you can climb the back of this and then swing around and pull yourself up. If you can do a pullup, you could get up this. I'm glad I didn't though, because a cop rolled by about 20 seconds after I took this picture
