For those of you that have explored/plan on exploring the Novato Abandoned Hospital, this may interest you; The hospital was boarded up a while back, and from what I was being told by locals it was 'impossible' to get into it anymore. So, I decided to see for myself several weeks ago. Since I work as an intern at an engineering firm, I tend to have items in my car. My plan was to leave an item there that would assist in me getting inside, but without damaging the property. I explored around a bit, and found a possible entrance. I had just the perfect tool in my car to get into the hospital. It was rather heavy, and since it involved climbing down I ended up having to abandon this 'tool' there. If you want to find out how to use this tool to get in, don't be afraid to message me. P.S.: Some parts I had to wear a gas mask to get through. I'm being told on hot nights there tends to be a lot of floating debris/dust on the lower floors. Other than that here are some pictures: Note: The quality of some of these sucks. Pitch black conditions + camera phones = poor photos.

Damn Siper, you got that HDR down to an art! Nice work.
What we get from this adventure is just sheer joy, and joy is, after all the end of life. We do not live to eat and make money, we eat and make money to be able to live. That is what life means and what life is for. - George Mallory. |

Pfft....pretty fancy Siper, but your artistic eye OBVIOUSLY didn't catch THIS:

No HDR! Straight from the camera, bitches!

I'm still trying to figure out why engineering interns carry microwaves around in their cars...
Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =) |

I think that was a joke from B&C. The item I'm talking about was long and gave the ability to cross a gap.

There WAS a microwave but whatever Bucky left either sank or was scrapped. Went back yesterday in the daytime with a few others. We all balanced on a windowsill as Yuichi so elegantly stated

Thanks very much for the tip UrbanBuck. I live fairly near to this location and have wandered around it many times in the past but never had a chance for a proper visit up till now so that was cheap thrill for me.

I wish the x-ray machine was in a slightly larger room, it's so awesome but a pain in the ass to frame in a shot.

Same problem with the one at a certain prison in the midwest. They don't seem to take into consideration the urbex photographer's compositional needs when they instal those dang things.

Yeah, the shot above was on my 2nd trip back with a fisheye. Still not great, but too cool not to photograph.

Had a blast doing a little post turkey day exploring with Boosted today. This place deserves a return visit. For better pics, and pics of the other one we found. 1.
