That other area to the north-west is peculiar, with all of those objects surrounding the perimeter.

All those objects are actually trees. I was somewhat disappointed to find that out. I was hoping it would be something really interesting.

Do you know if it is open to anyone with a rifle and license?

Posted by BeaverBanker
im pretty sure its a closed(not open to public) range.
I know the RCMP use it. but its only opened once and a while at odd times

Sounds pretty public to me.... Like any range, you just need to call the office ahead of time.

WHICH ruins at PPP? Point Pleasant Battery is the only accessible (by accessible, I mean you can actually go inside a building) ruin that I'm aware of... If there is another one, plz tell me so that I may drop wht I'm doing and rush there now..

Is this where you were?

Probably a good idea to check this out ASAP everyone because it won't be there (as it stands) much longer. Pieces of it are ready to fall into the harbour.

I just checked out an old Lions club in Wellington, has anyone been there yet? It wasn't very exciting, but it wasn't bad for a pre-dinner explore.

York Redoubt!!! I was just there today... that place is amazing. If you haven't gone yet check it out.

And you can scam your way into the 'Fire Command Post' too through a somewhat open window. There is some underground rooms that are pretty cool, nothing in them though. It looks like they are renovating that place to get it open, I can hope so at least!

Even without getting inside there is still tons of stuff... spent three hours there no problem today! Might be a good place for a Halifax meet... way better than PPP IMO, better than citadel cause it's not really busy (yet at least).

Dude, I really don't mean to put you down or anything, but I already knew about the BCP window, and there's no way you're getting in there without breaking the blast hatch off. And if you want to see some amazing things there, go outside the wall.

Here's the window:

Huh? Why would that be putting someone down? But what's the blast hatch too?

I'm just talking about this stuff:

EDIT: Sorry I started to write my reply before you edited your message to post the blast hatch! Where was that hatch?

EDIT EDIT: Nevermind I realized that's on the side of the building! I checked against my photos again... I think I happened to luck out with an unlocked area then!

If anyone is up there and goes to the little cave-like thing with a fireplace in it, I might have left my flash case + little plastic stand in it by accident today. It's just an empty nylon case with 'Sony' written on it.

It's a long shot I know... but it'd be nice to have back :p

I might be going up Sunday, but I don't think it'll be there by then (if you haven't found it someone else will have). Sorry.

Yeah... it's just a piece of nylon, which is why I didn't care at first. Figured it would be about $10 to get a new one based on the quality. Maybe they sell them as a joke, to see if anyone will pay $60.

I was thinking neoprene or whatever they call that stuff they make wetsuits out of. Even still, $50+, that's crazy.

The road between the golf course and the beach has an old gun emplacemnet(??) about 25 yards away from the street, ive checked it out, and you might be able to gain access if you really want to, the place is almost invisible in the summer, but its built into the hill and chances are it has tunnles leading up and away from the water, under the golf course and in all likleyhood to where the spotting tower used to be. If anyone wanted to volunteer a trip there (no car) id be more then happy to check it out again.

P.S i had no idea there were still gun emplacements (these arn't what im talking about) on the golf course, you cant see them from the road

The only place in Dartmouth right now that I want to explore in more detail is the Alderney Gate parking garage, and the connection to the school board building.

I may be able to assist with this, as my job may allow me to get access to it (I work in one of the buildings). Still interested, Chris? Anybody?
