I've been on UER for a while, but never bothered to introduce myself. I'm Nox, a Calgarian explorer and photographer. I'm fond of draining in miniskirts (seriously, much more comfortable than waders), vast industrial abandonments and razorwire.

Holy wow! Would you be interested in being my soulmate?

but seriously, way to be.

It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Hi, this is my very first post. So I I do or say something wrong, don't kill me okay.

I never was into this UERing stuff. I have been into the Sydney rave scene. But we started exploring places to find buildings to hold raves in. Eventually I decided what I liked best was the buildings, not just the rave scene. So now I look for abandoned buildings.

So here I am, looking for more buildings to explore in Sydney. I have been in a couple of drains too, because one runs past where I live.

Stop staring at my tits!

I've been following the UER for a few months now and finally made an account about a month ago. I've been traveling quite a bit and explored most of the time. Certainly not new to UX (aka UE), one of my favorite things to do. Also a big geo-cacher if anyone's into that.

Live in the Orange County, California, United States area and am currently looking for places to explore and others to explore with.

Looking forward to the community (friends with a few of the people on here). Cheers everyone!

I just came across this site by accident. I find it very interesting. I love architecture, history and exploring. I just thought I'd introduce myself

Hello My name is Danielle and i am a new member to uer. Actually I am pretty new to this whole urban exploration thing. I must admit the first time i tried this i was extremely intimidated by the whole idea and sorta freaked out. But for some goddamn reason, i can't stop now. It's one fucked up habit, but i guess there is much worse.

I'm Matt. I'm from Syracuse, NY. I found this site from geocaching.com, and didn't even know there was a forum for UE.

Please don't be stupid. It might piss me off so much that I have a seizure or something. I hate stupid people.

Hi there. Dave aka Skunk. A friend recently pointed me to the site and I'm amazed. I was completely unaware there were folks doing this stuff for fun. I'm glad to see you guys have a code of ethics (not tagging, not vandalizing, etc.). I'm in the DFW area in Texas, been into a few interesting places on my own (didn't take pics tho, that will change). Anyway, that's me. Thanks.

hey hey;

Just introducing myself... was snooping around for a while dropping the odd annoying comment before realising how cool this site is! Myself and friend are gonna start "UEing the bejaysus" out of Dublin (Ireland) over the next while as soon as my exams are finished... there's also a plan to UE an old IRA hideout (circa 1930's) in Kerry in the pipeline... so watch this space!

SELECTA!

Hey guys, just thought I'd introduce myself.

I've been a major train nut for years with a keen interest in abandoned railway lines and structures. My first UE was actually to an abandoned business that had nothing to do with trains about 15 years ago. It was in a busy area but fairly well hidden, so investigating was very easy. It never ceases to puzzle me why anyone would show up with spraypaint and tag the walls and break stuff when it's so much more fun to look around and try to figure out when the place was last used, and for what purpose.

The one thing that has deterred me in the past is plain old fear. I make pretty sure after a few drive-by's that the place isn't alarmed or occupied by someone dangerous. Interestingly enough, I work in a profession that has taken me to various properties all over Ottawa, and on the rare occasion I've been stopped, people usually don't hassle you too much when you're honest. Sometimes people are curious as to why YOU are there thinking that you might have some inside info on a new development of some kind. Another fear of mine is stepping on rusty nails sticking out of boards. If you have steel toed/shanked work boots, you feel a lot safer walking around. It also makes it look like you're supposed to be there!

One major interest of mine, which was discovered quite by accident, is the Dixie Square Mall in suburban Chicago. I've never been there, but the site dixiesquare.com has been a fixation of mine lately. Imagine a regional shopping mall with over 800,000 square feet that has been abandoned for nearly 30 years! Inside are many familiar vestiges of 70's mall deco... rainbow stripes, wood panelling, fuzzy wallpaper, earth tone carpets... remember them? Or am I becoming an old fart?

Anyhoo, I've already found 6 places in Ottawa alone which I hope to share. See the Ontario regional forums for my posts. I hope to get to know more of you and do some group explorations.

Thanks for all the neat stuff!

Howdy! Really excited to be here. The name is Claemore (I know it is misspelled- it was on purpose.) due to my Scottish heritage, and my interest in old weaponry. I am 36, and am currently living in Ft. Collins, Colorado. I have always been fascinated with exploring abandoned buildings, especially those with history. I have only explored old houses, and ghost towns in Wyoming. Unless you count tourist attractions in Germany like castles and what not. Didn't know there was a following for this sort of thing until I read "Creepers", by David Morrell.

I have been everything from a soldier, to a bouncer, to a cop, to a bail enforcement agent, to diesel mechanic. I have skills, and would love to meet up with folks of your sort in this area. Thanks.

Hello my name is Dustin and I have been fascinated in UE for some time. I am 20 years old and living in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area of Minnesota. Recently I have started looking for a group of people around my area that share my same interests; obviously this would be the place I would find them. The reason I’m fascinated with UE is because of the exploration and discovery.

Hello all,

I was looking for some new places to explore and decided to check the internet. I was pleasantly surprised to find a whole comunity that is into the same deviant hobby that I'm growing to love more and more.
I got my start in free diving, and eventually diving into underwater tunnels and boat housed and sea walls. I don't know if there are any free divers on the forum but infiltration is a ton of fun under water ( though a bit dagerous, so respect and be disciplined with your limits.)
Eventually I started getting out of the water (beacuse is always cold in syracuse) and checking out other sites. I found a couple of great places around the adirondacks (I will share soon) and I am now trying to get to the hudson river to explore. My dream trip is to do the catacombs under paris- hopefully in december.

I am still fairly young at this and have allot to learn so I look forward to getting to know the members on this forum as well as getting to gether for some adventures.

I look forward to getting to know every one. By the way I'm Gear-h.

regards,

Hey I'm Nick. I stumbled upon UER over the summer. It never occurred to me that what I had been doing for years had a name and there were other people out there that went exploring abandoned things for fun like I do. I live in the Albany/Schenetady Area, but am out in Buffalo for College.

Hey, my name's Tim. I live in Florida right now, though I did most of my UE'ing up in Connecticut, over in Texas, down in Louisiana, and will soon be living in Philadelphia.

I think my favorite site that I've explored was the New Haven Coliseum up in CT. Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera at the time, so I don't have documentation.

Anyhow, looking forward to getting to know all of you.

i have just started getting into exploring and i hope to contribute to the community.

i am located in North Carolina (close to the SC border) so if anyone can suggest places to go that would be great.

Oh, cool, my family just moved down to that area, so I'm looking forward to visiting when I get out of college for a break. Maybe you could be the one suggesting some places to me!

I haven't been to exactly where my folks moved yet, but I've been in the area before. I would imagine that you could explore a lot of places around Myrtle Beach, especially in the off-tourist season. Are you near the coast?

Happy hunting!
