was on the skytrain today and noticrd in new west between columbia station and new west station an old building the top floors were definatly empty but there are buisness on the main floor.
would this be easier or more difficult to explore?
or should it just be left alone?

I'd think easier. At the very least you can walk into the lobby of a public building without any problems. Easier than scaling a barbed wire fence and climbing in through a broken second story window. From there, try stairs, doors and elevators that point you where you want to go. Sometimes doors aren't locked, and you may just find your way there.

Should you get caught being somewhere you're not supposed to be, like the empty floors of otherwise occupied buildings, just tell whomever finds you that you got lost looking or the bathroom, and found the place you are. "I just thought it was cool so I checked it out". As long as you're not being a dick, and genuinely innocent in your approach, you ought to be able to get out of the situation with little hassle. It'd be a good idea to follow up with a request for directions to the bathroom, to give your story more credibility. Explaining your way off of a hospital rooftop at 3am is going to require more than just innocence and credibility.

That's my two cents anyhow. Hey, since it's been so long, did you ever get in to this building?

I've got the weekend off, and might be able to join you if you want a little company.
