amen. we've already tried making laws against discrimination in the US, but i think the time for that horseshit is over. some things you can change by the ballot, some you things you must change with a bullet. just my 2 cents. ~b

We had the KKK come to our locale a while back. NOT very well received at all, especially by our campus who came down in large numbers to protest this in-house terrorism group. I'd lock them all up, or maybe tie them to back of a big-rig...

i am a firm believer in the first amendment rights and such. but one of the founding ideals of the US was freedom from persecution, and the KKK openly incite and provoke persecution and violence against fellow citizens who are from the various races and nationalities that helped to Build this country. inciting violence against non-violent countrymen simply because of thier race amounts to only one thing in my eyes...treason. the US holds a high penalty for treason, death. just my additional two cents, though, i dont mean to sound hostile towards anyone on this board.

| | | I dont know for sure if Val of The Tunnel Rats was indeed involved in organised white power groups. Either way he was very stupid doing what he did, and it has been made worse by the fact the media have now started using him as an example and scapegoat. The Tunnel Rats group is not affiliated with any other exploring groups in Australia. This includes the Cave Clan, whom despite having the word 'clan' in its name, have never in its 20 years of operation been associated with racism, organised racism or indeed white power. S///

Well actually I can see the use depending on what your doing.. for a cave lets say you want to find the other entrances so you pop smoke and block the exit you know of then where the some pours outa is other ways in.. Either way if people wanna be racist oh well.. let'em be, thats up to them, but if they choose to try to do something with it (riot or incite violence) I personally am I big fan of firing squad.. At least in america people have the right to be morons.. And actually the only things that really don't make sence is the gas (but it was found in a car...) and kevlar helmets (unless he was a cop or military beforehand and thats just what he has for head protection).. the only really questionable thing in his room is unlicenced pistol [last edit 12/21/2005 4:53 AM by Pravus - edited 1 times]

| I read elsewhere on these boards that Australian UErs are collaborating with police against 'terrorism'. This is odd - there really is nothing approaching 'terrorism' in Australia (it's a *real* backwater, politically) - it's all hype and government propaganda to scare people and get them to approve fascist policies of control over the general population. Their scare tactics are working. I was really disappointed to read that Aussie UErs are collaborating with such b*******. Oh well, that's life I guess.. So, to link to the topic of this post: yes, for more reasons than the one that is the topic of this thread, explorers in Australia don't look very good at the moment
"After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn’t it a noble, an enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it?" Richard Dawkins |

Well, without going to far into meta-physics, every persons' opinion is valid to them. Which means, in a freedom of expression kinda way, every opinion is valid - while it is held. Not every opinion is of value though. Chris... [last edit 12/21/2005 1:59 PM by TurboZutek - edited 1 times]
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

| | | In regards to the Cave Clan member(s) working with the Counter Terrorism Taskforce, it was total bullshit. The opposition newspapers had fun paying out on The Telegraph for running with the story even though it wasn't true. In regards to Australian explorers not looking good at the moment, as Siolo said, the Tunnel Rats are nothing at all to do with the Cave Clan... if anything they are (and definitely were) anti-Cave Clan. I think that the exploring side of the story will die off quickly in the media. Most Australian's don't give a shit about who they sit next to on a bus, or moves in next door, but we did have the White Australian Policy up until the 70s so obviously there still is that element there. Add a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at terrorists - let's not beat around the bush, 'Arab' terrorists that has made Islamic people the Commies of the 2000s, a couple of group rapes that get blurted all over the papers "Leboes rape white girl!" and you have a recipe for disaster. In regards to the word "Clan" being compared to "Klan". There is a world of difference between the two words in both the 'real' and 'exploring' world. In regards to what I'm going to do about it all - a carload of us are going exploring for a few days. I hope you all have a great festive season, All the best, Doug.
