Henryton, Visited.

Went to henryton tonight. One of the guys that I was with swore he saw a car through a window. We made it out, but by the time, we got back to the cars, there was a Park Ranger waiting for us.

Got the damn 55$ fine, the scare-the-shit-out-of-you talk about asbestos (I'm gonna Die tomorrow), and was sent on our merry way.

I'll post the pics that I did manage to get a little later on.

He probably parked at the train tracks, which is state park property- perfectly legal to park at during the day, but not after sunset. If you're going at night you might want to park at the Seven Stars church down the street.

Was this you're first time there?

Edit: this should probably be added to one of the other Henryton threads.

So you told them that you were at Henryton? I would have said that I was hiking and got lost.

That sucks.

Too bad about the fine, but Roland is right about the after sunset thing. Im suprised the guy even fined you, unless you guys talked back.

If you ever see a car while exploring, don't panic - it'll only get you in more trouble.

Yeah man, I'd wait them out. An hour of my time is worth the $200-400 fines we can get up here in pennsylvania. That's about how much time it takes for them to get bored and move on, even if they receive a phone call from a nosey neighbor or passer-by. The only caveat to this is if you've parked illegally, then you're focked either way.

There are three Henryton threads, one private and two public. The long-running one is private, thats what Andrea is probably referring to.

We did park at the train tracks (was unaware of the church) when we came back to the cars, there was 2 state rangers waiting for us. We did wait about 45 minutes or so, but after the one ranger lit his 3rd cigarette, realized they had nothing better to do then wait for us.

Oh well. What happens happens, but don't be scared away. Henryton is most easily visited during the day.

Here's the pictures I managed to get before the Park Ranger's had their fun. lol

This was the one thing that pissed me off. This shelf used to stand up against the wall, and was full of planes of glass. They are now on the floor...

There is a small "hole" outside the power station. Couldn't see a purpose for it, except to house crap that people threw down it.

Small office inside the power station.

I always thought this building was to house some sort of utilities for the hospital, but seems to be just a storage building down near the power station.

Which side of the power station is that hole located? I had never noticed it before. Did you explore the rest of Henryton or just the power plant?

That hole was at the front corner of the power station, between the building and the tracks.

Yeah, we went up to the main building, (notice the picture of the "glass room" in the basement)

The hole is a drain filled with crap. There is a manhole cover next to it (that was pulled off" that says "STORM DRAIN."

That bike used to be up on the hill.

Yeah, dude, one of my friends went up to Rosewood with his group and around midnight they noticed a white SUV with it's high beams on and a spotlight, lighting up the buildings. Soon enough, two more SUVs came and they were circling the place for a good two hours until my friend(s) managed to escape uncaught.
