| | | Well, I'm afraid you just have to search. :\ I haven't found any that kind of entrances, since I haven't lifted any manhole cover. (I've used couple of outlets.) I don't know any good techniques since I haven't tried any. Read "How to locate a drain" from here: http://www.uer.ca/...id=1&threadid=4549 Good luck. Or if you're really extreme you could try to chimney (or whatever the word is) your way down into the drain. But I don't recommend it!

| | | Start at the manhole, and walk downhill. Keep on walking until you reach a creek or river. If it's a storm drain manhole, there will be an entrance somewhere along the river.

| | | That abyss in your garden sounds too interesting to pass up. Maybe you could invest in something like this; http://www.upandun...&Description_ID=52 Oh, and you could always chuck a glow stick in there to see how deep it is.

| | | okay i looked down the manhole again during the daytime, its not THAT deep ha, but its just a hole straight down and at the bottom theres like a small concrete river with water flowing through it. There's a creek near my house, maybe ill check it out for an entrance. thanks for the help. oh yeah the manhole says 'sewer'. i dont know if that has anything to do with it...

| | | Well, it's probably a storm sewer... how much water is flowing through it? Can you tell how big the pipe at the bottom is?

| | | Oh how I wish there was a manhole in my yard. But I'll settle for the one in the yard across the street.

| | | Do you have any absailing gear? Cause you could lower yourself down into it and have a look. And if its big enough to go exploring in then find a better way in and out of it. Or as was mentioned a rope ladder or wire ladder is always another good way to go about it.
