| | Abandoned House Near Henryton < on 4/21/2005 5:08 PM >
| | | I was driving to work this morning and was in a line of traffic on Marriottsville Road just inside Howard county so I was looking to the left and right out of sheer boredom. I noticed an old driveway on the left just before the Bon Secor entrance (I think that's how it's spelled) and looking straight up the driveway I was able to see and old house that was obviously abandoned. I will try and check it out this weekend, although there really isn't any parking right near the house so I will have to scout the area. Let me know if anybody has already checked it out. If I get some pics this weekend I will post in this forum (not level 3 yet.) D-rock240 P.S. I was heading towards HC so the house was on my left but if you are coming from 70 it would be on your right. [last edit 4/21/2005 5:11 PM by D-rock240 - edited 1 times]

| | | I don't know about the house....but there is a cave right by the state park parking lot. It looks man-made. Has anyone ventured into it?

| | | I've seen the cave but I didn't go in because it was full of water. Have to go check it out again sometime soon.

No my cousin had an operation to remove a cyst on friday so I went up to PA this weekend to help him out. This cyst was in the middle of his lower back so he cannot lay on his back or sit normally in a chair. He has to lay on his stomach for at least the next 4 weeks. Seeing him like this made me appreciate being healthy. I will try again this weekend if the weather permits. Where is the manmade cave? Is it near that white building near the railroad tracks? Or is it near the McKeldin entrance? [last edit 4/26/2005 4:00 PM by D-rock240 - edited 1 times]

| | | You know where you park next to the train tracks? The cave is right across the river, set into the ridge that Henryton road runs along.

Cool, I never noticed that before. I will have to check it out next time. I doubt it would be any kind of mining shaft, so I wonder why someone dug it? Did it look pretty deep when you saw it Roland?

| | | It went further back then my flashlight shone, and I couldn't tell how deep the water was. I might check it out this weekend.

| | | Thats cool Roland. I might check it out on Saturday. I was going to try and check out that abandoned house up the street so I'll be nearby.
