Some old pics of an abandoned quarry in middle TN

I've been on/off exploring places around Nashville for a while now so I figure I'll finally post on here after lurking for about 4 years. Plus I get to go into some of the trivia without worrying about giving away the location, since it really isn't attractive for exploring anymore.

Pics were taken a few years ago when the place was pretty much unused, but luckily the owners have started utilizing it for scuba diving again. It opened as a quarry in the 1930s and closed in the 70s, and even went through a brief period where they were trying to reopen it in the 80s, but everyone that lived in the area was so adamantly against the idea of having an active rock quarry in their backyard that the owners were never really given the go-ahead by the county commission.

Soon after that proposal failed a dive shop owner (who was a former green beret and Vietnam veteran, not the kind of guy you want to catch you "visiting") was able to get some form of co-ownership over it and started letting people dive there. From the 90s until about 2014 it was used as a dive spot, and then I think the diver guy ended up selling it. It only officially reopened for diving earlier this year.

This was my favorite spot to go in high school, and that's when I took these pics, so I just blacked out everyone's faces. Also, standard "I ain't no photographer" disclaimer.

Any good cliff jumping spots there?

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

Reminds me of the Milford Quarries.

In Massachusetts early 1990's...

I knew people who did, but I'd rather just go to Percy Priest lol less risk of getting shredded by some random piece of construction equipment
