Hello all, so it's been a while but I was able to find some cool locations in the meantime.
These pictures were photos I took of an abandoned METRA train in the middle of some defunct tracks yesterday.

Nice photos. #2 is really neat, how the graffiti makes the windows look like stained glass.

I come and go like a comet; we are wanderers.
Reports of our eradication have been somewhat exaggerated.

Thank you! I often don't prefer graffiti. But I have to say, they gave the train a nice look to it

These are awesome shots! The cloudy sky certainly adds to the moody atmosphere of the photos.

They remind me of the New York subway trains that were covered with graffiti in the 70s and 80s (and they weren't even abandoned!). Would have been a strange experience to ride the subway and see graffiti covering even the inside of the cars.

Thank you! And completely agreed!
The strange thing about this is the fact that this is even still here and not scrapped entirely by METRA for its' parts. Although I did hear that they come every once in a while to take out an important component of the train to use on the active ones. Also the fact that this is basically behind some active warehouses that seem to pay these train cars no attention at all.

So indeed intriguing.

I always love seeing pics of abandoned mass transit vehicles such as trains, planes, or boats. Maybe it's because they're relatively rare compared to most abandonments but it's always super cool to see them.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

Agreed! I've personal always had a fascination with trains when i was little. I think partly because I used to live right next to an active railroad that would always cause the ground to rumble slightly at night when a train would pass by.

So coming here was almost like fulfilling my childhood dream adventure haha

Haha thanks! That was a really lucky shot. I didn't notice the plane until after I sifted through the photos lol
