I explored what was left of the Hawthorne Works yesterday and wanted to share some of the shots I got. What's your favorite location in Chicago? What do I need to improve? These pictures came out a bit more blurry than usual since I was pressed for time.

You can get on the roof, but I have heard that the 6 story spiral staircase is in really, really bad shape these days.

Its hard getting in because of security. Everything is boarded now, nothing worth looking @ except the art and doing the climb.

Actually security is pretty low there when I went. I checked it out last weekend and it was insanely easy to get in.
However, I tried climbing up the stairs. I got to the 5th level before heading down.
6th set of stairs is some of the sketchiest I have ever seen and is simply not worth it IMO. One steps feels like it would be enough give way 6 stories down
But it sure is thrilling climbing them

I see. When I went in and peered out the window, I saw the security car trying to spot me through the windows. Luckily, I'm assuming they thought nothing too much of it and drove off lol.

Try going Sunday early in the morning. There shouldn't be too much of an issue that way and that's how I usually get into abandoned places.
