Hey guys. I finally saved up enough to get a new camera! I went from a Canon Rebel T6 to a new Canon Mirrorless M50 camera! I chose it for its small size, nice lowlight performance and the fact that its a weather sealed body. Hoping to see improvements in low light shots in the 'bando's from now on!

Right on! Congrats!

I need to learn more about mirrorless 🤔

My heart lies with the mirror in an SLR/DSLR (just nostalgia), but I keep seeing a lot about people going mirrorless as of late.

Can't wait to see your new photos!

Get 2 tripods.

A fairly good one for general use and a small one you can carry around.

I also have a collapsible monopod.

2 tripods because, when you get home after exploring, and you realize one leg is missing from your tripod, and rendered useless. You have a backup.

And now, when you have to wait three weeks to get a replacement from Amazon...

Great news! I've heard a lot of good things about it. A friend of mine that runs a successful YouTube channel has just moved to one for his videos. His wife is the videographer and she loves it.

I just sprung for a Sony A6600 which I'm really happy with. It's just amazing what these little cameras can do. I realize that they aren't the same as some of the full-frame monsters out there, but it's perfect for my needs.

Congrats!

Abby

Congrats! I can't wait to see some of your shots.

A tripod is definitely a good investment. Maybe an extra battery too as the mirrorless (or at least the A7 series sony...) burn through battery relative to a DSLR
