We saw some great sites in Aldie a few days ago, including an old chapel guarded by a vulture. The adjacent grave stones dated from the late 1800s.
A short ride from here was an old farmhouse in sturdy, if dilapidated, condition. Abandoned structures with standing-seam metal rooftops often have better luck withstanding the ravages of time. This place was full of vibrantly-colored paints throughout the rooms – someone must have loved this place.
