Making a thread for all the places I have explored recently. I have been at urbex for about 2 weeks now, and have been exploring every single day!.

Most of these places I have discovered through my own research / exploring.

I would like to introduce myself as dog or dogman. I really love the idea of urbex, and it combines two of my favorite things, photography and cool places!

If you wanna trade locations, talk about urbex / the community, or just introduce yourself to me, reply to this thread or message me.

Even though COVID is happening, I am still open to exploring with people, as long as you distance yourself.

First place is the plant, i'm sure you all have been there. Sadly, based on old photos, a lot of the cooler parts have been destroyed.

Some of the photos were rotated, sorry!

A lumbar store that we found through quite literally exploration. Driving around industrial areas. Very lucky to have found this.1.

Great pictures and sites, and it seems like you've been doing quite a lot of research. You should figure out how to rotate some of your pictures though.

They were fine before I uploaded them, its the gallery utility that did this.

I had a ton more photos, but my phone bricked itself, so I have to go back and retake most of them

Great shots dude, great job finding these places. You're off to an excellent start.

Thanks for the input. I have been to other places, but sadly my phone stopped working out of no where a couple days ago, and I lost photos from the last 2 years.

I'll upload them once I go back, but its just sad that I have to retake them all.

Found this awhile ago while doing some ruralex on an atv out by my family lake cabin. Extremely creepy find, but made some great photos.

According to my family who knows the area better, you legally have to bury your dead animals, so it makes no sense that this GIANT PILE OF ROTTING DEAD ANIMALS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST exists.

I used to frequent one in Colorado that I called the Cow Graveyard. I have a thread about it in the Four Corners forum. Blackhawk (uhhh RIP or whatever) had said it's an illegal practice but not unheard of. Another user, Radio2600 I think it was, said they found a giant dump of dead dogs once, also in Colorado.

I really like the shots of dead animals you got. I'm a sucker for bones and decay.

Very creepy. Looks like something I'd imagine you could find during the wild west... not walking around a rural area. The twisted looking calf? pony? on top is particularly sad.

I think finding animal skeletons can be quite cool (when they are not piled in horrible half rotten heaps). I like hiking around the rural bush near my home to spot deer. One time I was walking and a vertebra fell from the sky right in front of my feet. It must have fallen from a tree or something but I always wondered what kind of bird could have left it up there.

I like the warm tones in 6 and 7 from your most recent post. And I agree with becckeez, the lumber store is awesome. Each location has interesting features :0

Thanks for the positive comments. Love hearing your guys input. It was really out in the middle of nowhere. The closet grocery store was an hour away.

Here is a view from the front. It looks small in photos but there had to be hundreds of animals. Bones were spread 15 feet from the pile in all directions.

Looks like an incredibly lazy farmer who had a problem with disease or something and was looking for an easy way out. I'm no country boy, but I'd put money that the pile of animals was both:
  • Human made, and
  • A problem solver for someone who was too cheap to do the right thing
Were there tire tracks or any access to the property? No way they hauled that many cattle in by hand.

A abandoned home of some sorts I found out by my lake cabin. Same area as the dead animals if you've been following this thread.
