Years ago, I was at a family wedding and there were disposable cameras on the tables so people take pictures at the wedding.

Certain nefarious characters took the camerass into to the bathroom and took a picture of someone's bare butt with each camera and then put them back out on the tables.

That being said, you don't know what's on them until you develop them. The best thing to do is to develop them yourself on the off chance that they contain pictures things that could get you arrested.

Photo finishers will not hesitate to call the police if there are illegal pictures on the film. That's the reason that Polaroid instant cameras were called "perv cameras".

Developing film is actually not that difficult. Three baths. Developer, fixer and rinse. That will give you negatives which you can look at and then determine if they're safe to take to a photo finisher to have them printed.

Sorry for not replying.

That first bit is hysterical. I bet both the photo developers and your family were delighted when they saw that.

That was my thought aswell. If there was some thing bad on it. Ironically enough ugh I did also find a single camera printout but it was lying face down on the floor and destroyed.

I don't think I'm going to mess with the cameras. However on the chance that I do, would I get in trouble if I found something bad on film I developed if I delivered that evidence to the police? Would they get me for trespass? Or accuse me of being the creator of the images since I developed them? Obviously the only time I'd do such a thing is if it were serious like rape or murder.. I almost feel like they might just be full of mundane images though. Like maybe some sort of maintenance photography? But I don't see a reason why they wouldn't just do that with a phone.. Even flip phones have cameras on them.

How predictable.
Interesting choice of words... have you been here before?
A rogue shadow or perhaps just ambitiously inept?
Why are you so obsessed with kiddy porn?
I can tell you been doing a lot of reading...

Who cares?
A cigar, some coffee and a piss sound like more fun to me right now.

You posted it on the Main Forum too.

Much easier to leave junk where you find it.
Managing the images is time consuming enough.

What does this even mean? Dude just asked about some disposable cameras he found in a site, and you decide to dig into him? You and a few others (mainly one person) just like to dig into new members if they do the slightest thing wrong in your eyes, and I think it can be attributed to the slow growth of the site today. I'm tired of seeing new members driven away from the site due to needless hostility and harassment.

The truest statement here.

Post a photo. That you actually took. In an abandoned building. Do it. Fucktard.

Like you always say. Pic, or it NEVER HAPPENED.

I personally think this is super cool and I would be absolutely incapable of not trying to get them developed. When I was a teenager my friends and I used to use them when we were just hanging out. I'm really grateful I have those photos now.

I hope someone offers to develop them for you. There's enough camera nerds around that someone must be able to, especially if you're in the US or Canada.

This is absolutely the truth.

Blackhawk, why the fuck do you think you have the authority to go around and determine who is and isn't lying?

You really need to find another hobby. I am absolutely sick and tired of you belittling and patronizing every single new person who comes about.
This is a really interesting thread.

Even if OP was lying, what motive would they possibly have? A good story for us to all believe? Play along with? Wonder about while there is so many unfortunate things going on in the world right now? Yeah, that's worth being combative about, right?

In the last two years you have managed to make yourself so much more dislike-able than you once were, but I'm gonna tell you this here and now...stop harassing people.

Do you steal from the sites you visit?
If all you take are images you shoot than acquiring kiddy porn isn't a concern.
Post stupid threads on the Main forum especially stealing from sites... and then ask for how to advice.
Really? BS.
Light bulbs, now disposable cams, what's next?

You seriously think this dude just found child porn in some random abandoned building? If anything taking these photos is more preservational than harmful, they'd likely be destroyed forever without them being taken. I don't see any harm in that?

I have taken film from a location which was soon to be demolished. I don't have any problem with this. The risk of something illegal being on that film is pretty slim if you break it down. I hope somebody here is able to help you out. You might end up with better quality prints in that case, anyhow.

I'm sorry that there are a few assholes here that think it's fun or cool to harass new members. Some people are working to have them removed. (:

Exactly. Y was hoping to inspire them to DIY develop the film on the off chance there's something illegal on the film.

Over the years, I spent so much time in the darkroom that I didn't even need the safelight and just worked blind.

One time some noob came in the darkroom and flipped on the safelight and I thought the flipped on the wrong light.

No pics to share? No proof you've ever been an abandoned building?

That 2 terabytes of photos you have?

All bullshit it seems.

Yeah. Rolls of film are more than likely to be damaged irreversibly by exposure to the elements and natural decay, much less intentional destruction by vandals. I think they fit that rare category of items that are acceptable to remove from the location in the name of preservation because they truly will be lost forever if allowed to rot away in situ.

Also Blackhawk, can you go a single damned thread without trying to drive off the rookies or being condescending to everyone? Seriously, get a hobby. Learn to knit, teach yourself an instrument. Hell, write a book. You certainly make enough posts to fill one.

I actually forgot all about film cameras and the such. I was meaning to look into that out of curiosity since I touched base on that in photography class. I think that was the most fascinating part of the class too. Just developing photos itself takes a bit of patience but it's rewarding in my opinion.

Cool topic!

The way I've made this distinction in the past is by asking four questions:

1. Will removal of the item cause a substantial loss to the property owner?
2. Will removal of the item cause damage to the property? (i.e.: scrapping)
3. Will removal of the item prompt the owner to increase security?
4. Will removal of the item cast the exploring community in a negative light?

There are bad people out there.

Some of us remember those 2 guys in Connecticut that got arrested for stealing $87,000 worth of stuff abd tried to sell some of it on UER.

The topic escalated quickly

I agree with people here that this category of item will not be a loss to the property nor cause any damage. Put it back afterwards if you really don't want to steal something (yes, this is still stealing). There's a few chance for it to be something weird, think of it. Who would throw some evidences like that ?
If you manage to develop the films, tell us please. I suppose we're all curious now
