Andrew August Ohleson was a Swedish immigrant who came to San Francisco to try his luck in the California Gold Rush. After spending many years without much success he bought his first 120 acres of potential salt pond farms in 1868. He later changed his name to Oliver Ohleson and created the Acme Salt Company. After his death in 1890 his wife and children took over the business and renamed it the Oliver Salt Company. The family business of salt evaporation continued all the way until the last pond was closed in 1982.

I explored this salt warehouse with WindsorSB. Even though it is a pretty known spot it was cool to see the history. There was still a big chunk of salt sitting in one of the corners of the warehouse waiting on processing that was never coming. This place was also filled with widow maker beams waiting to kill some unfortunate explorer. Hope you guys/girls enjoy!

This place was cool to photograph especially for how accessible it was. I can't believe how many times I drove past without realizing it was there!

I finally checked this spot out! I have driven by this many times without paying much mind, but last week I finally went in. It was surprisingly not as tagged up as I thought it would be and there was still piles of salt in the corner. I also found a dying bat that gave me a heart attack lol.
