Howdy! I'm from San Antonio, Texas. Used to be really into urban exploring back in college (04'-06' ish), but slowed down and got wrapped up in other hobbies.

Been having the itch something awful recently and found myself wandering down old train tracks and construction sites. Thought I'd see if this place was still about since I used to lurk here back in the day. This time I'll actually take photos and contribute, promise!

(e: typo)

Welcome to UER
Walking RR tracks is great fun... just watch every step
Never run or jog unless every footfall is spot on, that includes crossing them especially.
Just about everyone I know that's walked them long enough has found how there's always a rail to "catch" you when you fall, myself included
Rib, head, and ankle injuries in that order.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Hi all! I'm Rhincewind from southern california. I've been lurking for a few months and figured it was about time to introduce myself.

I hike a lot but I've enjoyed the little UE I've done and I'd like to do more in the future. I'm especially interested in draining and tunneling but most of the info on those seems to be (understandably) buried away.

Hi Rhincewind!! omg I loved the Colour of Magic, and that trunk! But my favorite was seeing Father Death play Santa in the Hogfather.

Oh, also hi, I'm new too.

Also currently located in Southern California.

I'm actually from the future, so I can't tell you exactly where I live because it doesn't exist yet. I came to this time to explore your fine abandonments and your occupiedments as well, because those don't exist later either. So much history was lost...

But I digress, looking forward to meeting you all someday in a dimly-lit alley, asylum or corridor. Just look for the totally normal looking person standing in the shadows with the big smile, that'll be me. =)

Feel free to come say hi if you think you see me, I have cookies and I don't bite too hard. ^__^

Hello, name's Apoc..not my real name but a nickname I go by usually, age 20. I'm fairly new to urbex in general, did it here and there over the years but have recently got really into it. I'm in the DMV area and always looking for groups around my age. Can't wait to see what my future on the forum holds.

One of my passions is post apocalyptic stuff, so I like to use pictures from abandoned places to create post apocalyptic art.

So far my only 'experience' has been reading Access All Areas & watching a lot of responsible urbexers on YouTube. Once the weather gets better I'll hopefully find the time to start poking around more. I'm really motivated to push this boundary, but I've never done anything like it--so I'll slowly try to work my way into it & track where my limitations are.

Hope to have something to share before too long. Cheers.

Hello !

I'm Maïté, I am from France, close to Paris, I'm in Toronto for three weeks before I go back beginning of March. In Paris I'm used to go to the catacombs once or twice a week with some friends, really love it there. I heard of the drains here in Toronto and would love to check them out !

So I was hoping to find maybe someone that could guide me, show me around the cool places, and in exchange I can promise that if ever in Paris, I can give back the same favor and take you around the catacombs 🙂

Hi, I’m Izzy and I’m ½ of what my partner and I call Ugly Girls Explore. We are 2 youngins from New York and we’ve been exploring the east coast together for about 5 years now. I stumbled across this site while looking through some abandoned Boston pages and I was elated to see active explorers outside of the garbage pail fondly known as Instagram. I’m glad to be a part of this community and I hope to make some sick contributions to your forums. :)

Hi! I’m Rachel from Long Island NY and I got into UE about 5/6 years ago and I’ve loved it ever since! I haven’t been to many places but the places I’ve been to have really taken my breath away! It’s so cool to explore and in some cases take a step back into the past. I’m very eager to see what the future has in store for me and the future of UE!

Greetings all!

I have been lurking around this site and these forums on and off since about 2012, and I finally decided to post something. I have traveled the world and done my share of exploration; crawling through storm drains in Ontario CA, gold mines in Death valley, abandoned concrete plants in Arkansas, unused Chemical weapons testing areas in Maryland, to abandoned houses and schools in Afghanistan and Romania to name a few. I have always been attracted to abandoned areas and underground spaces and i wish to thank all of the contributors to this site for posting your adventures and allowing me to live vicariously through you and see places I may never have the opportunity to explore. I'll dig through my stash and see if I can't find some stuff that may be of interest. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Hi all!

I'm Brad from the bay area and I recently found this site from Reddit. I don't have much experience, but in college I explored construction sites, roofs, and steam tunnels of the UCLA campus. If anyone goes there feel free to hit me up for advice for that specifically. Looking forwards to meeting cool people and finding cool places.

Hi!!! I heard people don’t use this site quite as much as they used to but I think the idea of introducing myself on here anyway is kind of cute.

I like things that look like mistakes and I guess you could ask what is more haphazard than abandonment. I think everyone dwells on or revisits sites of slight and abandonment everyday, most of this through memory alone, and the few times I’ve been out exploring I’ve thought a lot to myself about what it might mean to instead, seek out real abandoned places and let them animate my life in a good way. Of course I also just love to meet new people, get lost (but not *really*), drink, and see beautiful things.

If there is anything I definitely want to change about how I relate to this hobby it is that I currently lack a relevant skill that could be useful to other explorers and I want to avoid having the only thing I ever bring to the table be the fact that I am “nice.” I live in Minneapolis.

Hi hiccup! I vouch for this person.

Hey everyone! I'm X. I'm from New Jersey and I'm pretty new to urban exploration. I don't have much experience and have only explored some "well known" places in the past.

I've been getting back into film photography. I hope to meet some people in my area and learn. I hope to have some things to share in the future. Thank you !

I'm Gino!

I'm just jumping into UE and UER. Super interested in cameras/ photography and have been exploring since I found a way to slip under the back fence growing up.

I'm in the Bay Area and I love climbing rocks. Looking for anyone that wants to meet up and explore together, especially if you know of any good spots.

It's a mild kickoff, but Marshall Beach you can accidentally find yourself in UE territory.

Welcome, Kena! What part of Texas are you in? You'll be pleased to know that there are quite a few of us Texans that are pretty active explorers - some on UER, some not. I live in the DFW (north Texas) area.

I look forward to seeing yours and many of the other newbies' posts around here,
Cheers

I haven't checked this thread in a while, but it's cool to see more Texans joining in on the fun!
