Here are some pictures my daughter and I took of storm drains and tunnels close to where we live. It was so much fun exploring them.
We ventured for several hours and found some places that went under buildings as well as the usual ones that are close to roads for runoff. Long walks of absolute darkness and creepy noises.
Between stretches of tunnel there were some outdoor canals that backed onto peoples houses. At one point we had to sneak, back against the wall skyrim style to avoid being seen. It was all in good fun and tremendously exciting.
We have not been exploring very long and this seemed like an easy adventure. Tracking down the good good tunnels, piecing it together from vague commentary online.
I am preaching to the choir here but for anyone who thinks about doing this please be careful.
We had a flashlight die on us, we had a backup fortunately.
We had someone on the outside know roughly where we were and a time to check in, cell service was intermittent underground.
Fantastic weather, don't do storm drains if even a shower is forecast.
We had sidewalk chalk to mark the walls so we did not get lost, super easy to get turned around!
Don't go alone!
They are drains, its nasty in some spots, expect some parts of it to be, well kinda gross and potentially dangerous.
