Not sure this technically even counts as an urban exploration location, it's not urban, there's not even a building, but this place is weird enough that I thought it would be worth sharing. Plus, it somehow feels like it fulfills the spirit of UE, whatever the hell that means.

So yeah, these are my pics of a place that has come to be known as Ponyhenge. Few years ago, these rocking horses started showing up on this person's property in Lincoln, MA. No one knows where they come from, but they appear to be tended to every once in a while, since they are observed to change formation from time to time. Also, new horses are occasionally added, implying the existence of a caretaker.

We went on a very rainy day. Ominous church bells were ringing faintly in the distance. Really set the mood. As you can see, they are even arranged in a manner reminiscent of Stonehenge:

They also had this weird pyre in the middle

There were a few stragglers in the back

So yeah if anyone has any clue what the fuck is going on with this place please let me know, I've been searching for explanations but none have arisen. Hope you enjoyed.

Weird, funny, and a sprinkle of creepy....

I wonder if this is how someone is choosing to grieve the loss of their horse? The center could be where the horse actually died...

Pretty strange, but to each their own I guess...

Ponyhenge...I like it! What an intriguing and bizzare explore.
*And on certain lonely nights, while nobody is ever spotted here, it is said that you can hear a low, forlorn whistling to the tune of 'Goodbye, Horses' as a mysterious soul tends to the abandoned ponies...
(And let's hope it's NOT Buffalo Bill 😲)
Thanks for sharing, this is quite a unique location!😃

Your post made me do some digging - it seems even the locals don't know what's going on. The family who own the land aren't doing it but they love that someone started it and that it's totally anonymous.

I love weird little things like this- it's just so odd, and nobody seems to know who's doing it or why. It's mysterious and unique and definitely fits the spirit of urbex.

I like this theory, although from what I've read the horses apparently change formation drastically every now and then.

Sometimes they are all arranged in rows, whereas at other times they are scattered all over the place.

So it's not clear how significant the person behind this finds the center piece?

In any case, the "tribute to dead horse" theory is still pretty satisfying head cannon lol

There is actually stories all over the internet about this place, but they all share the same common theme of "no one really knows". It looks like it started from one lone pony in approx 2010, and over time the herd grew. There are several theories as to how the first one came to be, but no one seems to know for sure. I keep a list of locations by area, should I ever find myself somewhere for some reason. Interstitial appears has a keen eye for cheese and this is one of the most retardedly awesome posts I have seen here. Ponyhenge has found a place on one of my many lists.

Hah! Glad you enjoyed. If you ever find yourself in the area please do let me know. Also, check this place out; it's super accessible, and the photos really can't translate just how weird this place feels.
