My friend and I recently explored a certain reasonably well known rock quarry out in Western MA. In addition to the beautiful quarry, we found tons of abandoned mining equipment. (If this is considered a bit too mainstream to bother posting please let me know, still picking up the rules 'round these parts). Here are my favorite picks!

An old rusted out engine we found



Remains of what appears to have been some sort of industrial structure



Several vehicles appear to have just been left abandoned at the site, rusting away. You can still see bits of the original paint in spots.











We also found several winches used for dragging rocks out of the quarry left in place. The massive steel cables could also be seen tracing through the landscape.











Finally, a few shots of the quarry itself. Local teens like to swing from cables and dive into the water (we were not so brave).





Overall I quite enjoyed this location, if you're into industrial decay this is the place for you.
