Pepper spray, but definitely not a knife or gun.

High top lace boots + long pants, minimum 2 torches, min 1 pint of water, maybe gloves and a roll of self adhesive cloth sports tape... bush towel.
A good walking stick perhaps.
Forget the other junk.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

How far out will you be?
Only thing you need to be concerned with are blenders, deep open lacerations and maybe a busted bone if you do something really stupid.
The tape will handle those.
It's more likely you'll need the water for 1st aid; exposure to caustic or acid. They burn... and rubbing dirt in your eyes doesn't help.

Pepper spray is a defensive weapon, so you could use it to protect yourself. Not suspect at all.

I've explored and hiked alone hundreds of times.
It teaches you self reliance.
Never expect someone to save you if can't save yourself.

So? Less distractions and noise are better.

If you break a leg you drag yourself out.
You ever break a leg or arm for that matter?
It's not that easy to do if you keep yourself in check.
Ribs are the only bones I ever broke.

If you fuck up bad enough, no one can save you.
Better to go in that frame of mind than to think your back is covered.

if i break a leg i could drag myself out yes but with someone there they could help me to my feet plus i think its best not to go alone the first time plus i learn from others they might point something out i would never notice

If you're really worried then message someone privately and they can give you some advice that's more helpful than what you'd get on a forum. You're totally fine by yourself but if you want someone with you then that's ok as well. Just know that it's harder to be discreet with more people. I personally always go with someone just to keep me company and so I can share the experience with someone. I also find it helpful for bouncing ideas off each other or getting the balls to do something, but that's really only for the more secure places. I only bring my camera equipment with me and maybe a water or some food if I'm gonna be out all day.
Just stop stressing and go and try the place.

You're reading too much into this.
First thing you need to learn is when to bug out.
May be the first time or the 304th time but sooner or later you'll need to as a matter of self preservation.
Or be trying to outrun a collapsing floor
Fun if you do...
You make the call.
Start slow and do what's within your abilities.
