Built on 10,000 acres, this plant became the largest abandonment in the country. The demolition process has been going on for a few years, and most of the best stuff is already gone. I decided it would be a nice little place to check out in the morning after we camped in the state park next to it. I had thought up some possible entrances before but none of them would've worked with the situation.
Making a late start at around 5 am, we started the few mile walk to the fence line hoping it would be passable. We got in and chilled in a building with a few large rodents and birds. Unfortunately, demolition had spread much further than I thought and we immediately faced issues. After many close calls with on-site security, many minutes of waiting on workers, and many miles of bush wacking, we had finished all that we were going to see. All in all, it was worth it to finally see the place, as well as for the adventure.
