Posted by vwbusboy9 I ended up going, watched it with a friend from the Burrard Street bridge, absolutely packed with people but with a bench to stand on we got a decent view. At the end someone climbed down from the upper supports that go over the bridge, they totally had the right idea of how to get the best view

Lucky. Did you get any photos?
I mean at least they climbed it at night. Lots of tourists have climbed it during the day (the most recent I can think of was this incident

Jericho is a nice place to watch and shoot from if you have a long lens. Very minimal crowds. Just maybe not as dynamic as a rooftop angle ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
