Summer time 2012 house

Hey all. Lucky to have a friend who brought me here to kick off my summer explores. Family home that has a apparently been abandoned since 2012.

There was a really cool attic with a pull down ladder. I desperately wanted one of these as a kid. Way scarier though when you're exploring and expect a raccoon to pop out and bite you.

You can see some of the kids' heights have been measured on the door frame since they were little. I used to do the same thing at my old place. I wonder where the family went?

Amazing! Thanks for sharing! Can you share any ideas on where this place is?

That still looks like it's in pretty good condition. I wonder why they abandoned it

I'm super curious too. Maybe it got too expensive to pay property tax (I love BC lol) or was too hard to get to as the kids who lived there grew up? It's in an out of the way spot. From what I've read about the site is that it used to be a kind of 'Summertime escape from the city'. The area around it has become more and more urbanized in the last 10-15ish years. My best guess is that the people who lived there left for quieter pastures.

Could have also been an elderly person who died or couldn't live independently anymore and their children (if they had any) lived too far away to deal with the house, leaving it to sit neglected with the ownership buried in a pile of paperwork. It's not an uncommon reason for a house to be abandoned.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.
