This place is really cool. Last time I was there some group was doing an FPV drone race down the chairlift lines.

Cool find and good pics. Without giving away any specifics, any idea on the history of this place (i.e. when/why it was shut down)?

Fuck whoever set the shack on fire (unless it was lightning or something).

Ive been out to this place before. Its really a shame that most of the buildings have been burned down. It closed down in 93 or 95, depending on which source you read. There were attempts to reopen it until 1999 when the Forest Service declined to renew the permit.

There was a caretaker living there until about 2010, and slowly vandals started gutting the place. The main lodge was collapsing due to winter snows until it was finally burned down a few years ago.

This is a photo of the main lodge with the roof collapsing from the weight of snow. The lodge was burned down more than 5 years ago. The thread that I had saved in a ski forum with the full history has unfortunately been deleted.

EDIT: This picture could lead to a website revealing the location so I deleted it.

Recently stopped by this place. I plan to make another trip in the summer when its more easily accessible. There is not much left up there now though. The stations for the 3 main lifts are still standing, as well as the support poles. The only building still standing is a small pump house next to one of the lifts.

The 3 standing chairlift stations:
Ski1

Down the line:
Ski2

Inside the one tower still accessible:
Ski3

I wish I had a snowmobile as there are supposedly 2 more lifts on nearby hills that may be less damaged because of how difficult they are to get to, but Ill try 4wd in the summer.
